Hey everyone!

Any recommendations for santy in the Midlands/Galway direction?

We usually go to Glendeer in Athlone but they aren't doing santy this year. Iv heard that elf town in Galway is good, but just checked it out there and the prices are crazy. The eldest is only 3 so not fully into Christmas and quite liable to get scared of santy etc so I want somewhere decent but not mad prices.

Cheers

Bord G Energy Theatre are delighted to present an enchanted evening of classical delights for all the family.

Presented by Marty Whelan, The Magic of Christmas with Claudia Boyle and the RTNational Symphony Orchestra will feature much-loved favourites from the concert hall, opera stage and cinema screen. Claudia will be joined by very special guests including the Oscar- and Olivier Award-nominated, BAFTA Award-winning actor Stephen Rea reading The Night Before Christmas and the Arabella Voice Choir.

Celebrate the magic of Christmas in sumptuous, glamorous style with Claudia Boyle’s ‘stupendous coloratura sophistication and radiance’ (Neue Musikzeitung) as the internationally acclaimed soprano joins the RTNational Symphony Orchestra, the Arabella Voices choir and conductor David Brophy for a festive celebration for all the family.

Claudia will be joined by the brilliant RTNational Symphony orchestra and the programme will include: Tchaikovsky Russian Dance (Trepak) from The Nutcracker, Andrew Lloyd Webber Pie Jesu, Hess A Christmas Overture, Gruber Silent Night, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Adeste Fidelis, Away in a Manger and Williams ‘Somewhere in My Memory’ (Theme from Home Alone).

From the blazing orchestral brilliance of Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture and swooning romance of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana Intermezzo to emotion-laden operatic jewels by Puccini, Verdi, Gounod and Dvoř ballet treasures by Tchaikovsky, the loving, luscious Hollywood emotion of John Williams’ score to the festive film fixture Home Alone, seasonal songs and well-loved carols, we guarantee a night to make this year a Christmas to remember.

Get a half price child's ticket with every adult ticket sold - available on top three price levels.
Tickets are on sale for this already, seems to have flown under the radar but sounds like a lovely night out.

Was just reading about that.

I hope it is as good as they make out; Dublin Christmas markets have a tendency to be a bit... crap.

Anyone been to Winterval or the Wicklow Christmas markets? Was thinking of doing a day trip, but I don't want to waste a day on a mediocre market!
