Get £20m for him or let him leave for nothing in summer.

Considering Gerrard doesn't start him all the time and prefers McGinn, you could see Gerrard being ok with selling him.

How's it's gotten to this stage is a joke/shambles.

This month should of been about who we might bring in, not whether one of our better players will leave the day before the window closes. Absolute sh1tshow of a club these days.

In those situations you have to sack him, and let Lange take the reins though. I’m genuinely worried about relegation as it stands.

It started off well.

End of the summer there wasn't many Gerrard out fans.

Net spend the last two summers has been extremely low.

No doubt Gerrard will blame the loss of Beale and Carlos.

The rumours are now that Luiz is going for 30 million to Liverpool

Watkins wanted by Leeds and Villa open to selling.

Also seen something this morning on twitter that we have only sold 2 players for a profit since (I think) 2008. Westy and Benteke out of 60 odd signing made in that time.

Wish him well, he was a headless chicken at times but his goal in the playoff final and some of the goals he scored including vital penalties in our first season will be my memories of him. Has the potential to do well with PSV.

I'd rather lost him for free in summer. Even if he continues to be on the bench, who do we have for cover if McGinn or Ramsey get injured? Nakamba? We are in a really bad situation here, I'm also worried about relegation.

I totally agree with you.

What's £20m compared to the cost of relegation?

The money is no good to Gerrard as he won't have time to spend it on a replacement.

I'd rather keep Luiz and play him.

Wonder what sort of headspace the players are in with the current mess going on at the club, can't be great.

Why on earth would Luiz want to hang around when Gerrard won't even play him despite 3 wins in 15?

Lucas Moura, another over-rated, over-paid Brazilian who's made his money and shown little consistency. He'd be as effective as the last 3 Brazilians we signed, Wesley, Coutinho and Carlos.

Thing is, and I've said it before, we tend to play better against bigger teams that come out and attack us; and this team we've out today has an awful lot of pace to counter with - so maybe we don't need to worry about a skillful strong midfield when what we want is Ramsey, Bailey, Watkins all bombing forward onto long through balls

They are just so much better than our players, faster in closing down, snapping into proper tackles, winning every 50/50 - ours can't string passes together, awful touches all round, unable to find any of the space that Arsenal are leaving, instead it's suicide pass after suicide pass back to Martinez

Joke..... they could have scored 5 times there in 10 seconds. It's like kids football. Martinez did pull off a world class save in the middle of it, but no-one there to clear or mop up, just torn to shreds and relying on luck

Apart from Martinez mistake, I wouldn't question the players tonight.

I'd ask Gerrard, What did he expect to happen with his tactical setup?

We're play a high forward 3 hoping to counter - fair enough.....

But also expecting our FBs to push up and join them....madness and just leaving our defence so exposed. Also Ramsey being told to push on quickly to help out too, leaving McGinn and Kamara isolated
