Does anyone know if the Rebel Tour is taking place in September 2019? Don't see it in the Cycling Ireland calendar but maybe I've missed it? Didn't make it in past two years so would really like to do it again as one of my favourite events (tough!)...

It's not usually featured in the cycling Ireland calendar, in fact many of the more popular sportive don't. The RoK for instance, not sure why. Anyway the Rebel tour is organized by the Cork Sports Partnership and going by the last few years I wouldn't expect to hear anything before April.

Now confirmed on Cork Sports Partnership page that is not taking place in 2019 (or probably ever again). Very disappointing news. Was an amazing route and a great challenge.

Not that surprising after demise of An Post Sponsorship though (and wasn't even included in Cycling Ireland calendar in recent years).

Bad news indeed. Had done the shorter version but never the longer one and was looking forward to giving it a go this year.

Real shame :( I did it back in 2014, great event.

If you know the route, why not do it anyway?

I may well do. But as a mostly solo cyclist (by choice) I do enjoy the companionship and shared experience in the odd sportive from time to time.

Do the Ring of Beara gig (2019 sold out) covers a lot of the same roads (different direction though, no Healy)

Have done it several times already. Will probably miss it this year though.
