Sorry about that I didn't mean to frustrate anyone! I thought it was helpful to state those parts but I can completely understand how annoying that would be if I was in your position. I did only get my vetting back 2 weeks ago. Hopefully yours isn't too far. I've heard people say before that vetting results are all over the show and some don't get theirs until much later than others even though they are ahead on the merit list and that there's no reason behind it.

I thought they would be higher than 650 sooner, hopefully the June intake, if they take around 55 each time and they do 3 more intakes for April, May and June that would get them to around 675 if the current number is around 510. They might even be into the low 700’s by June depending on attrition. That’s obviously just my opinion could be very wrong, I’m sure we will have a clearer picture when the next set of calls go out which could be next week.

Is there a significant chance those in the 700+ bands will lose out to 1810 you reckon? I’d hate to go through all PSNI managed stages to be let down, or would they possibly take the higher band 1710 with 1810 round aug/sept?

Managed stages costs a good bit of money to get candidates through (medical, SMT etc) it doesn't make sense financially for psni not to progress candidates that have passed managed stages and essentially throw money down the drain. I reckon the aug/sept will be a mix of the two. The fact that they said they would progress all remaining candidates indicates that they would appoint all who pass. Attrition is still a factor as well. Theyre up to 510 appointed on ML after 7 months of intakes. That's 350 people (50 per squad) which means 160 did not pass all stages. If my calculations are correct

At least I hope that's the case, I'm 720-740 with medical and SMT soon.

Another week nearly done and still no vetting. Starting to get frustrated big time. Thought i might be in with a shout of the next set of calls with a merit listing of 560-570 but now beginning to think otherwise!!

I had actually wrote June but didn't want to get his / her hopes up ha ha so I edited it.. as their merit band was very vague. But yes I agree!

Hopefully calls Monday?

Yeah I think so, would be nice to see if they do take higher intakes as people have speculated.
Where are you roughly on ML?

That's a good point. I hope some who get the call mention it here with their rough merits!

Is it definitely 55 they take into GV each time?

Unfortunately I have no idea I’m just going off what I’ve seen on here, it seems to be the average amount taken each time.

They definitely don’t take more than 50 as I work in the psni and my partner is a police officer the classrooms are not big enough I know the early squads (Aug/Sept) started and the figures weren’t near 50 because people hadn’t passed all the stages quick enough

I’m 500-520 and waiting on vetting. Nothing more frustrating than this! Knowing I should be receiving a call but whatever is holding it up on their end hindering me. No idea as to why it would be taking as long either!

Aww no way!!! (This has prob been said to you before) have you tried to contact them to ask? Everytime I have contacted them they have been very helpful!

I have indeed. I basically get a generic response about vetting being individual. But I’m waiting almost 4 months since I was asked for a small piece of further information. Baffling me. I would of essentially been one of the first to receive a call today. I emailed them before I found out calls had begun I still haven’t received a reply. Very slow process if you ask me and I haven’t as much as a speeding fine.

I think you need to ring them. No point emailing as they are always very vague.

Ive passed all stages too but vetting is yet to clear. Although my ML is 640-650.

Yeah I would ring too!! I can't imagine how frustrated you are! This process is hard enough without unanswered questions!

I am literally in the same boat. Merit position fairly similar 530-540 and have still not received vetting back and it’s driving me insane. Please let me know if you ring up. Gutted not to have vetting back before this set of calls

Got the call today - really wasn’t expecting it so early in the week. ML range 560-600. Training means I’ll miss some holidays but that can’t be helped. Exciting times ahead.

No, once you’ve completed your 5 stages. You’re appointable and then you just await your merit list position to come up.

My merit list is 720-730
I have a job offer that I applied for a while back ... ,(it is an interal promotion) I would feel silly to turn it down although I also don't want to take the opportunity away from someone else if I leave
Psni is my main priority but I haven't received my vetting back either
So I am in a pickle

What would you do?

Anyyyy help would be greatly appreciated

I am 700-710 on the ML. I have just joined this thread and have passed vetting and have medical this week. Can anyone provide any info as to if you think or not there will be a cut off before I am called or if any time scales as to when you think training will begin if I do get called?

I have my PCA date coming up and I’m wondering what way the remaining stages are completed?

I thought vetting was the last but I seen a post above that vetting was through before medical.
Is vettting completion sent via email?

Can anyone advise please?

The vetting can clear at anytime during the 5 stages,
You get confirmation by Email.

Mines took roughly a month,then my SMT took about 6 weeks after the medical to come back(but that seems to be a little longer than most people’s)

Welcome

The medical depends on your circumstances.

If there are any concerns with your medical history in the past 3 years, it can take upto a week to hear back as it needs to be passed with the chief medical examiner.

However, if there are no concerns its usually the next working day.

Mine was passed 45 minutes after I had it because it was close to christmas when I done mine and I suppose they just wanted to get it wrapped up before then lol
