    I had my roof reslated and a breathable membrane put on along with a few velux fitted.
    they were fitted with the standard slate flashing kit.

    I am now in the process of adding the tunnels down to ceiling level and bring the VCL up to the velux.
    This is an old house with a cold roof vented at the eaves

    Unfortunately I am only now looking at how the velux are fitted and have noticed 2 things.

    1. There is not much space either side of the velux for insulation, prob 40mm from the rafter to the inside edge of the plasterboard rebate.
    Would a 38/27mm insulated plasterboard (insulation cut back for the rebate)
    be a good approach or are there better approaches for insulating veluxes

    2. There are gaps in the roof breather membrane at the corners of the velux where i can see through to either slate or flashing i guess and this morning i noticed some condensation dripping in from there

    Is this just due to the roof not being insulated yet or should the gaps in the velux be sealed with sudafoam or the like?
