Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cork Airport. 2 x 50kW CCS and ChaDeMo and 2 x 22kW AC. Listed on plugsgare app with photos. Acessible without paying for airport parking, so acessuble to anyone passing by. Branded TSG. Cost unknown, Better charging than Dublin airport. [Edit] Cork Chargers are not yet active. Link to app needed on plugshare entry [/edit]

Dungarvan just popped up as a fast charger upgrade at the car park in the center of town. Great for the town, but quite difficult to access if it's just a pit stop, and parking accessibility is shocking there to begin with.

I'll take a spin down there later

  • Moderators Posts: 12,381 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Main Street, Swords, Dublin got an AC upgrade.
Main Street, Rathcoole, Dublin 24 got an AC upgrade.

2 less of those crappy old AC units.

There's a free to use EasyGo 22kw charging post at the new County Council offices in Roscommon Town. It's on the EasyGo app, but missing from PlugShare etc. Drop off parking during business hours, but free to use outside of business hours. Need to use your fob/app.

Still keeping busy putting in pointless AC units at supermarkets.

Supervalue Car Park, Church Lane, Ballinrobe, Mayo is live. 22kW AC

(Great spelling of SuperValu by ecars)

My mistake, it got upgraded. Nothing new.

Daly's Circle K Service Station, Letterkenny Road, Lifford, Donegal
Got a 50kW DC / 22kW AC unit added to it, but they didn't remove the ****ty Elektromotive - 165 AC units (at least not yet)

EDIT: It seems this site already had this configuration, but the DC unit needed replacing.

  • Moderators Posts: 12,381 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Texaco (Mace & Supermacs), N4, Ballinalack popped up as having a circontrol raption 50 Unit (the new DC units they've been installing) yesterday. It's back to being the old CHAdeMO only unit now, but signs it's going to be replaced. A replacement, but at least another CCS head installed.

Athlone town. 2 chargers being installed today. Looks like one 150kW and one 50kW with only a Max 22kW AC socket. Photos on plugshare. New site near town centre. Kilmartins Centra

  • Moderators Posts: 12,381 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Athlone getting another change. Fairgreen car park has had its 22kW AC unit replaced with a new 50kW DC "lite" unit.

50kW DC, 22kW AC, load balanced. Sadly, the AC has no overstay, so a bay could be blocked for hours on end and the bays aren't flexible to allow "inventive" parking to allow any car charge port to reach the unit.

Carrick On Shannon Lunneys newly installed last few days

50kW DC, no load balancing. 22kW AC, load balanced with the DC head.

    Carlisle Road, Derry City

    * I know it's no discussion but I'd call that a replacement. There has been a broken one there for ages, so long that it was taken off the map/pre map?, possibly broken for 5? Years at a guess, it was duct taped together last time I seen it.

Mod Note: Keep up the good work, happy for replacements to also be listed here, it's helpful for people to see that charger that may have been unreliable in the past has been replaced

New charger in the newly opened Pettitt's Supervalu in Bray, towards the rear of the carpark. Not yet operational, doesn't look like an ecars or EasyGo unit. No markings, but looks like a bog-standard 22kW AC unit. 2 allocated parking spaces.

Great to see the new set up in An Cheathrú Rua in Galway. 4 new 22kW chargers as part of a 120kWp solar PV installation. Chargers on EasyGo app and should be live now from people I know in the area.

A public charging location on the way out to Clifden that was badly needed. Not too far from some of the Coláiste as well, once they re-open I guess na thuismitheoirí can get a charge while they visit for the day so clever future-proofing

  • Moderators Posts: 12,381 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

    AC --> DC upgrade:

Public Car Park, Off Link Road (R420), Portarlington, Laois
50kW. Bring your own type 2

For those with a Tesla, Mahon Point shopping center in Cork surprise opened 4 Tesla superchargers yesterday!

They plan to open more general ev chargers soon as well I believe.

    Coming soon...

Shore Road, Killybegs, Donegal is getting an AC-DC upgrade.
50kW DC unit - 22kW AC (bring your own cable)

Not live yet, but the unit showed up on my stats yesterday morning, and the AC unit is offline currently.

Very weird location though. Judging from plugshare it's on the side of the road. Very difficult to plug in there given the short length of the cables.

Saint Michael's Square, Ballinasloe, Galway getting an AC-DC upgrade

    ^^ Those are live now.

    More AC-DC upgrades:

Public Car Park, Barrack Street, Loughrea, Galway

Also looks like 1 of the 350/200 CCS units at mayfield has been replaced with a like for like. I get the impression at least 1 of them was a bit glitchy.

8 new 7kW sockets (4X2) around the back of the Wexford council offices, near the hospital. Of course, there was the obligatory diesel Audi parked in one of the spots, loads of free parking there.

They are marked "ec charging" and have a place to swipe a card. I've no idea where you would get a card though, nor how much the cost to charge is. I must ring the council and ask.

There used to be a pair of 7kW sockets there, just plug in and charge.

    UPDATE from other post:

OK, I called the council on this and they eventually got back to me. The charge points need a card to activate. They are are only for staff use.

Nice perk for the council staff there.
