    Can you ask ABP to ensure the staff that work on an appeal have signed some sort of declaration they have had no communication with a party that is part of the appeal? Envisaged scenario would be a county council employee appealing against a granted planning permission. They may not work in planning but could be/were in the same building and part of a department that has regular contact with planners.

    County Council employees dont work with ABP employees

    Irrelevant. The ABP inspector is independent of the planning process. And again independent of the board themselves who regularly go against the inspector.

    ABP won't even talk to the planners in the local authority not to mind some other random employee.

    There's nothing to worry about there OP.

    In this envisaged scenario has the potential appellant made an observation at planning stage? If so their own buddies in planning have already decided that it doesn't have sufficient merit. If not then there can't be an appeal unless the potential appellant owns the adjacent property.
