Great news that he's in a stable condition, that was a hard watch and I feared the worst tbh.

Fair play to RTE for choosing a wildlife video to replace the match, I didn't actually know I needed to watch bear cubs learn how to climb a tree but I did.

That official statement from UEFA was odd no?

1st paragraph - match will be reviewed and announcement later tonight.

2nd part - oh yeah, the players is OK.

    What?!?

I’d say he’s in their ear saying get that game played!

Tonight; preferably he won’t want it written off as a tie. Deferral is awkward with such a tight schedule too

So the game is going to continue tonight at the players' request. Christian Eriksen is awake and stable.

20:30 Danish time is 19:30 BST so that's in 23 minutes' time if I've read that right.

So many people complaining about the cameras showing everything.

As they sat there and watched it.

"I can't believe they're still showing this guys. The humanity. Oh my god (turns up volume). How could they possibly show the wife. Look at her there. Would you look at that. This is terrible."

I was listening to it on BBC 5 live actually

Match being resumed at 7.30pm at the request of the players

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,809 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

If UEFA gave the players the three options of play today, play tomorrow or take a nil all then I don’t see why uefa have acted improperly.

I gotta ask, did the game really have to be postponed? They have substitutes. It would be understandable the players might need a break, but come back out and finish the game. The guy was awake and responding on the stretcher.

There's no way that game resumes at 7.30pm, I don't even see the itv coverage of the later game yet. That was supposed to start at 7pm.

I'd imagine the other players, managers, spectators etc were in shock and needed time to compose themselves.

Very true, things like this put me in a bad mood. Of course he deserves sympathy and understandable people are shocked and concerned. But seriously, calling the game off? Imagine having bought a ticket, flights hotel etc

Edit: Game back on. Proper order. Wish him all the best and a speedy recovery but these millionaires need to get on with the game.

I think almost everyone will be cheering for Denmark now, no offence to first timers Finland.

The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution.

The Entryism process: 1) Demand access; 2) Demand accommodation; 3) Demand a seat at the table; 4) Demand to run the table; 5) Demand to run the institution; 6) Run the institution to produce more activists and policy until they run it into the ground.

Definitely awkward for Finland. They deserve their moment of glory as much as any other nations that qualified. But how do they celebrate if they score against the Danes?

0-0 would probably be for the best.

Is the Belgium/ Russia game gonna be delayed?

TBH nothing worse in a sporting contest when teams don't try their best.
    Finland 1 nil up!

The crossover between matches has caused RTE to stick the first half hour of Bel v Rus on the RTE News channel.
Don't understand why that game could not have been delayed by 30 minutes.

Because of broadcasting rights all over the world.

    Are you for real?

Imgine if you were out doing something and you saw one of the people with you, perhaps a friend or a colleague, suddenly collapse to the ground and you had no idea whether they were going to live or die. Do you think that might just put you off your stride, just even a little?

Their bank balances have nothing to do with it.
