Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For those of us that don't do Patreon could we just make it an annual shout-out on here, say 1st September every year to make a donation or at the very least to check in with Pat and see how much is spent/needed. That way he's not having to ask, we are offering. Maybe a mod could set a reminder.

Pat, out of curiosity, out of a donated fiver, how much of it is getting to you via Paypal and Patreon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,116 ✭✭✭Mech1

Paypal €4.48 after charges, but if sent friends and family no charges apply. (very few use friends and family).

Patreon i dont know yet as payments are not taken from patrons accounts until the first of each month. But i expect charges between 3 and 6 percent depending on patrons amount set but thats from memory so dont quote me on that.

We have a total of 7 donating Patrons and the total income from them amounts to 25.91 USD per month which will help alot over the course of a year.

The winter period is almost upon us and this is the first year that I have been confident in the antenna attachments and pole surviving it. Thanks!

    Pat.

    All ok Pat?

    Are you up the pole?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,116 ✭✭✭Mech1

All should be back up running now, dont know what happened, but a system reboot sorted it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,116 ✭✭✭Mech1

As is usual, the Windy weekend pulled us up a bit from our usual top 10 feeds in the Liveatc feed charts into the top 3, First place for a lot of the time!

    Thanks for listening.

    Pat.

@Mech1 Hi Pat, wonder if you could, like you've done for the other feeds, make a Center only feed? The frequencies they use for the 5 sectors are 129.180, 132.580, 120.755, 135.655 and 118.500.

Would be great for us nerds. Thanks :D

question about your feed Pat.... what sort of limitations have you hit with the SDR's?

I'm assuming you have 2 or more 10MHz capable SDR's (or multiple cheap 2MHz wide ones)... how many RX's can you run on the one laptop etc... and what are the laptop specs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,116 ✭✭✭Mech1

Unfortunatly a few Patreon subscribers have fallen through. No blame on them they supported the feed when they could.
If anyone thinks they sould support the feed even for a couple of months, click in my signature at the botton of all my posts and sign up. one or two euro each per month from a few people would be enough to cover the costs.

    Thanks,,, Pat.

Well 47 people turned on last night to hear an A330 return to base with no issues at all.

Fresh donation made - thanks for the listening! :D

**EDIT: you may want to watch the weather forecast for the next few days. Possible risk to TS activity and a need to take the aerial down ;)

Long time listener. Just sent you a few quid there Pat. Many thanks for providing this hugely enjoyable and fantastic service.

Slightly off topic - anyone know what happened to Shanwick HF feed? Used to be under Shannon airport of LiveATC but has disappeared in the past few weeks.

I’m one of those 5 people.
It’s $4 a month from me. (A negligible amount even in these Covid lay-off times)

I’m not a big user but I do know how important it can be for certain events/incidents.
Would you need another 5 patrons to cover costs overall?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,116 ✭✭✭Mech1

probably only 3 more at that level would break even.

How do we donate again, can't promise I'll get round to it but will try and good to have the link up for new people

Or you can click the patron link in Mech1s signature if you feel you can spare the price of a cuppa per month.

  • Registered Users Posts: 42 Staunton96

Ah was wondering, no coverage at all of some of the frequencies like TWR, APP or GND :(( If it does come it's inaudible
