Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kettle in dishwasher

    Hi

    Hoping for advice!

One of my flatmates put the kettle in the dishwasher. Clearly an error on their part and very dangerous.

They have already started to use it again after a day (it must have dried out already) It appears to be working but but I am worried.

If it is working does this mean its now fine/safe? I have no idea as putting something electrical in water isn’t something I have ever done myself!

    Thanks

Throw it out to be on safe side
You can inspect it, it would likely trip the RCD if unsafe

An electrician would use a PAT or an IR tester

My mother in law visited for a 60 day 'holiday' a few years ago. I bought a 50e milk frother for my wife, of course the mother in law loved using it. However, she decided that hand washing was too much for her and put it in the dishwasher. That was the end of frothy milk in our house..
