    Pretty decent price, but I've got that motherboard and it sure as hell doesn't have onboard video!!!

    No DVD drive as well...

    ive been thinking about a htpc, would the lower option be any good for that? question, if the fan proves too noisy coudl i swap it out for a quieter one?

    I think while both might be bargains, they are completely different beasts. Its like comparing a bargain Micra with a bargain Ferrari 350GT

    That i7 is one of the fastest available and many times faster than the E5500.

    So it's probably more like fast gamer vs basic allrounder.

    You could put a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 Heatpipe CPU Cooler on it for Approx 20 - 25 euro. I believe they are very quite.
