    Hi all,

Anyone know where a man might enquire about a second-hand car hitch?

I've been quoted €155 for a new one, which seems a bit steep, so I'm wondering if there's any chance of getting a second-hand one anyplace.

    Thanks.

(It's for an 03 hatchback Corolla)

Try breakers, there is a partfinder website also where you can request a part but they horse on the value of the part.

A hitch has to suit the make, model and even year of the car. The price you were quoted is about right from my experience, plus fitting.

No it doesn't, you could get a 2nd hand hitch and fabricate to fit no problems.

Hitch would be deemed a safety critical component. Pay the few bucks and have it done correctly.

Paying any amount of money is not the issue with the comment I replied to, I said that the hitch doesn't have to be for a specific car/make/model/year as was mentioned. Any hitch that has been attached to my car or fathers car has been done correctly by........us and the hitch has been 2nd hand with no issues whatsoever. Its how the hitch is attached to the car and not the hitch itself so therefore any hitch will do the job perfectly well once its done properly.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

I didn't realise second-hand ones would be so hard to come by. I'll keep on looking anyway and try the part finder website as well.

    Cheers.

No joy with finding a second-hand one anyway, so I reckon I'll just have to order a new one.
