Anyone like to guess if TAA and Salah start against Burnley?

Salah is on for the golden boot, the threepeat as they say in the last dance
Only Shearer and Henry have done that so I’d imagine he’s playing and starting penalties

Maybe after the Spurs game tomorrow I will have a whole different viewpoint on this. For now, I'm happy enough with only having Aurier tomorrow and only expecting to have Justin at the weekend.

Must have a very similar team to you, you've articulated my thoughts exactly! No way am I ditching Jesus for Vardy, Jesus owners have been very unlucky to only get 9 points in the last 2 games.

Definitely have my eye on James who looks nailed, with an attacking threat and also the cheapest option.

One further option I am also considering (and might not work for you depending on your funds and amount of FTs) is to bring in Iheanacho (for Connolly). He looks to be starting now and has got amongst the goals. Has a very strong xG, and looks to be in the right positions. I see it as a form of insurance for not having Vardy too.

It's either that or bank one of my transfers to have 2 next week and start Foden. I'm leaning towards Iheanacho right now, think Foden might be benched.

After last night I think they might both play. The fact he took Williams off at half time for Robertson shows to me that Klopp still wants to win all the matches. He was playing out of position though. Salah definitely plays. Fresh as a daisy still looking for goals at the end of the match.

Wouldn't at all surprise me to see TAA rested. Robbo was rested last game and Klopp clearly trusts Neco and wants to give him experience. It's hard to call, he could very well start, but wouldn't surprise me to see him rested

    Salah 100% yes
    TAA prob 75%
Don’t know will he start the young lad two games in a row
And now Henderson is injured Milner it increases chances of a midfield role for Milner

I think the Burnley game is the most likely to see any rotation from Liverpool, as they play Arsenal away the midweek after and that will be a big game when going for the points record. But rotation for Liverpool is generally is in midfield and one attacker. CBs can't be rotated. Burnley are safe, but Arsenal have something to play for so is a tougher game.

If Williams is going to get another start, it's either going to be Burnley (h) or Newcastle (a) on 38. I can't see him starting Arsenal (a) or Chelsea (h). Williams needs 1 more appearance to officially qualify for a winners medal.

Does Williams start at Burnley (h) or Newcastle (a)? I think TAA will be needed more against Burnley because of set piece delivery and crossing from deep against a deep Burnley defence and he generally starts every league game. 33 starts in 34 games. So on that basis, I'm starting to think that TAA might just play Burnley, Arsenal & Chelsea and give Williams the start on the last day of the season. That's what I think, but Klopp may have different ideas!

At this moment in time, I think Salah definitely starts the remaining games of the season when fit. After the 2 goals last night, and hunger for the golden boot, there is no way he is being rested IMO. He has missed 4 games this season, all through injury. He is fit now, so won't be rested IMO.

Elliot needs 3 more appearances for a medal and Jones needs 2. I think Jones will get some game time against Burnley alright. Henderson is injured now too, so it makes Jones more likely to get his game time that way.

Burnley is also a big game as they’re going for the 100% home record, I think I heard somewhere that Liverpool weren’t even formed when Sunderland did it

Jesus, we are very much on the same page, as I’d been considering Iheaneacho this week for DCL. Still think I might end up making a boring defensive transfer though as I’ve a bench boost to play in the upcoming weeks.

Need to get rid of Doherty. Would bring in Egan but not sure home to Chelsea, could get Justin hich would allow me Jimi to Vardy for a hit

I am debating benching Egan, but he has been a threat from set pieces lately. Chelsea seem to struggle from set pieces iirc. I'm thinking of starting Egan for his goal threat more than a CS.

Is there any update on Mendy? Was impressed with him against Liverpool but no minutes in 2 games now and not flagged as injured on the site.

I've had Egan since the restart. 3rd Sub for his 2 goals, playing for his red card

    Like for like.

Changed my mind, Guendouzi is doing me no harm as my 3rd sub.

Already moved Jimenez out for Vardy.

Might go -4 and move Doherty out for a Man City or Leicester defender purely to block rivals' clean sheets but probably won't.

I would definitely not sell Doherty for minus 4. A clean sheet is not unlikely. Can see 3 in next 4 . I wish I had stuck with Boly but I will have to stick with Doherty now and hope they remember how to attack

Kane to Vardy a certainty I’d say.

I don't have Kane, but was looking at ways to get to Vardy. Do you not think this game has made Bournemouth look less attractive to swarm towards? They did not look as open and defeated here, against an ordinary out of sorts Spurs, and move next to an ordinary out of sorts Leicester who did not look at all threatening against Arsenal until Nketiah was sent off.

    It is tricky.

If it’s for free I’d get him but not captain him
I’d be more comfortable tbh if I was selling DCl instead of Jiminez for him

    Not certain I will now
    Could bank yet

Whos the best cheap Burnley option out of Taylor, Long and Pieters? Pieters has been playing in midfield but I've no idea for who and if he'll stay there.

After that Spurs game I’m considering

    Son & Rashford -> Salah & Greenwood for a -8, worth it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,068 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Ings & Vardy both rising tonight. Both going for top scorer.

Ings plays Man United, Brighton, Bournemouth, Sheffield United. Doesn't take pens.

Vardy plays Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Spurs, Man United. Takes pens. Trying to shoot Leicester to top 4.

    I'm gonna go with Ings.
Next week get rid of Otamendi to make Man City space for (c) David

Personally, for a -4 I would say yes, but for a -8, I'd be thinking a lot more about picking one this week and one the week after. Saints have only conceded 4 times in 5 games since the restart.

Son and Jimi to Salah and Vardy done for a - 4. Golden Boot boys ftw.

Pieters has been playing because gudmundson and brady were both injured and hendrick and lennon didnt renew contracts. Id expect Pieters to lose his place to gudmundson the game after the liverpool game. Taylor is first choice left back and long is playing as mee is out for the season and burnley dont have any other centre halfs.

Finding it really tough to push the button on Jiminez to Vardy
Transfers are valuable and I am wary of how many players I have already playing each other in tough fixtures gw38 without adding another
Don’t like his (or Jiminez fixtures ) after this week

Also no point doing DCL to Ings as I’d have to bench Ings or Foden then .........

Foden is actually the headache for me now . If i bank and he doesn’t play I get DCL In away to wolves
    I regret getting him

I've been flipflopping between going for him and not going for him too, but I don't think I will. I don't see myself bringing someone in to target one game if I'm not even going to captain him and having watched Leicester last night and Bournemouth today, it does not pass the captaincy eye test.

I think you are over thinking the Vardy transfer

He is a streaky player and he's just got three of them, Jimenez has been well off the pace

I would be shocked if he doesn't comfortably outscore him between now and the end of the season

The other planned transfer for next week is digne
I really wish he had a better fixture this week but he plays Jiminez..........I need to tidy up my defence
I am currently playing Henderson and Egan at home to chelsea
Other option is Fernandez away to watford
Or sign digne and play him against Doherty and Jiminez..........

DCL remains first sub then .
I could of course just sign Ings and leave him first sub .......hate doing moves a week early though especially with an injury prone player !

I probably should just bank .........I am very nervous about this weekend tbh . Not confident of many clean sheets and worried about rotation and ya misfiring strikers

For a defender, Wolves might be just the team you want to play for a clean sheet. Attacking returns might be harder to come by.

Which makes me wonder why i am then holding and playing Jiminez :D
    And a 6ml attacking defender
I am going around in circles!

I wouldn't be holding Jimenez. I'm just not convinced Vardy is a great option for the last 4 games. Ings is a great option for the last 3. Giroud has merit at a much cheaper price than Vardy. Going cheap on Dwight Gayle or someone might allow you to improve a position that has more depth of options also.

I am not going to make a move tonight now anyway
Most likely scenario is for me to bank and then get Ings in for DCL next week and bench Jiminez
If Jesus was to be rested this weekend ahead of Bournemouth I could be tempted :D

Bournemouth is the big rest risk game right? 3 days before the Arsenal game, its why I feel so confident he will start and probably play close to 90 against Brighton, because I feel so sure he is getting rested in that one.

Jesus, who do I think I am trying to second guess Pep of all people?

Maybe you will get the Norwich game out of him next week. Feels like the sort of game that is just destined for him to be marauding up that left wing with no regard for anything else going on around him. I think if I had a free hit in GW36 he would be in my team as long as I made sure I had a playing sub on my bench.

I'd wait til GW37 to do that transfer out.

Best of luck. I still don't know what I will do. I have to wait for the Ramsdale/Aurier/Lascelles/KDB injury news tomorrow. If all in order, there is an outside chance that I may still go Jesus to Vardy but I really don't think I will now.

Also he can only run in 1 direction and it's away from his own goal which isn't the best trait for a defender.

I brought in Vardy already for Auba but now I really want Salah but it would take a -8

So am thinking I could get around that by FHing this week. Will I really want Vardy after this week? Not really SU, Spurs United. But I will want Ings.
I also won't want Salah against Arsenal and Chelsea

So looking at a FH team of

    Fab v Norwich
    VVD v Burnley
PVA v v Villa (FH PUNT)
    Cresswell v Norwich

    Antonio v Norwich
    Mane v Burnley
    Salah v Burnley
    Bruno v Southampton
    Sterling v Brighton

    Greenwood v Southampton
    Vardy v Bournemouth

    Thoughts?

    Rashford/Saka to Vardy/4.4 worth a -4?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,908 ✭✭✭claw

Have ended up taking a -8 cos I did two free early transfers this week, Auba to Vardy Saka to Pulisic. Subsequent events have me doing Mahrez to Salah and Rashford to Greenwood. Didn't want to get rid of Mahrez but Salah > Mahrez and Greenwood is a no brainer. Hope he is cheap next season!
