Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know of any stairlift suppliers in Ireland that will purchase a secondhand stairlift which is in good condition?

Check out 'reconditioned stairlifts' on google - they are the kind of firms that will buy a second hand one, there seems to be several in Dublin, I don't know anything about any of them.

I am putting a stairlift in at the moment. I asked about removal and resale, and most firms claimed this was hardly worth their effort. They all charge a couple of hundred euro for removal. There is some after market for a straight stairlift, but none for a curved rail as the curves are too variable. They can use the seat and motor. Not all were willing to supply or service a reconditioned unit. Servicing is important if you depend on the stairlift.
I am getting a reconditioned unit with a new curved rail. This is costing about €1000 less than a new setup from the same company but it is still about €5500. I think this is excessive but all quotes were similar. Only one company offered a reconditioned unit, but I didn’t explore outside the major suppliers.
