    Hi all
Just wondering if there are any companies that do multicar insurance in Ireland and give a discount for having two separate cars insured with them?
123 and chill have said no anyway.
    Thanks.

Discount for two cars? It's the opposite, you can only use your no claims discount for the first car so for the second car, you're effectively a new driver.

Ok. Sorry I’m not too well up on this as I’ve driven under fleet insurance for the past 15 years and have been a named driver on my wife’s policy. However due to a change of jobs I now have to take out a private policy on a private second hand car I will be buying.
I’m basically looking to find the cheapest way of doing this and I thought if I gave a company mine and my wife’s policy we’d get a discount.
Isn’t that what they have in England, admiral multicar etc?
I could be way off though!
    Thanks.

This is what I don’t understand, you can get a multi bike policy for motorcycles, I have one with AXA, yet can’t get one for 2 cars, one which has been driving on a DOC extension for a total of 1000 kilometres in 18 months. Are there other companies in Europe who do it out of curiosity?

This is a bit crazy. Don’t they have it in the U.K., or am I thinking of something else?

Aviva have a discount for having more than one policy with them. I think 5% for 2 and 10% for more than that.

If two different people are the policy holders you should be able to haggle some discount, but if you want to put two cars in your own name they just want to ride you. Another made up load of ****e in the insurance industry

I thought that’s what the OP was looking to do but maybe I misunderstood when they said

‘However due to a change of jobs I now have to take out a private policy on a private second hand car I will be buying.
