Average rent in Manhattan is just under $4k monthly. Hopefully the cousin is living in one of the other boroughs where it's more affordable.

I'm glad they're doing well, OP. Unfortunately the cost of living is so high in NYC that what seems like a fortune can disappear very quickly.

Very true, it's no secret that cost is huge in NYC, apparently 100k a year is nothing special over there

I wanted to share a success story with everyone, my cousin has recently completed his Advanced Barber Diploma in Dublin and now is managing a high end gents grooming lounge in NYC and is earning a whopping 6k.

Unsurprisingly, he put in a huge amount of work over the 12 weeks and has clearly distinguished himself as a skilled barber. He specialises in fades.

It was a long journey as he spent a long time on the dole and struggled to work. Its just a shame hes moved to NYC, now i will have to pay for my haircuts

Does anyone have any similar successful stories they would like to share?

He should go into business with your partner the beautician or is she too busy shoving people in wheelchairs off buses

Think everyone is presuming u are trolling again. After reading your earlier posts...... hardly a major success story passing barber exams. Maybe to him and his family but hardly newsworthy for rest of country. Could u not have said he passed his astronaut exams or something a bit better

The point of the thread is for you to take the glory for your cousin's achievements.

Do you support any English premier league teams?

I have a friend who was in the dole. He did a painting course in a painting university and now works in Monaco on 5k and owns a 200ft yacht which he also paints as well as doing other painting jobs. I now have to pay for my own painting, sad face.

Ah come on hun. You come out with a crap story. Your last thread about the partner not allowing the wheelchair user on the bus was way more entertaining. Try again sweetie with a good story and we will do it all over again tomorrow. Take care x

Jesus, is this what AH is reduced to, "success" stories about barbers, and not even ones you can go to handily enough yourself?
