    The other thread on the "causes" of the recent troubles and this thread have a lot in common. Beginning around the 1980s revisionist historians denied the previously accepted reason for 1641 and the rampant anger that seemed to be unleashed - that it was a direct result of the Plantation.

    Something like the UVF version, or spin on, more recent events - that the fact of the violence should become the emphasis and not the social circumstances that led to it all.
