I'm looking for info about traveling over the 5KM distance, and what are the reasons to justify going above it, I have a trip to France in early February as I have an apartment in France as I am moving country. My only difficulty is that the harbour is above the 5km limit, Would the ticket of the boat be enough to pass the 5km limits?

I don’t think it’s the 5k limit you need to worry about here - more the conditions surrounding who France is accepting in to their country!

No problems with entering France, it's only restricted for UK citizenship, from what it says on the website anyway.
