    SBOBET and Macron
West Ham United have agreed two major partnerships that will provide 'significant revenue' to the club
    10.09.2009
    SendSend PrintPrint RssRSS

West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of new long-term agreements with SBOBET and Macron.

Principal partners SBOBET, the Isle of Man-licensed and regulated online sportsbook and casino operators, have extended their agreement with the club until the summer of 2013. The SBOBET brand will appear on all official replica kit and training wear used by Gianfranco Zola's squad, as well as being represented on all club media platforms.

Leading Italian kitwear manufacturers Macron will be the club's official technical partner for three years from the start of the 2010/11 season. Having recently joined forces with Serie A side SSC Napoli and working already with Portuguese league leaders SC Braga, Macron were keen to make West Ham United a major part of their growing portfolio of top-flight elite European clubs.

West Ham United CEO Scott Duxbury said both deals, the terms of which are undisclosed, would be of huge benefit to the club.

He said: "In these challenging times, I am pleased we have secured our principal and technical partners on long-term contracts. These contracts ensure over the coming years that the club has secured significant revenue to assist in the continued improvement of Gianfranco's playing squad.

"Commercially the club is going from strength to strength and these partnerships provide a strong foundation for the club to continue to grow and achieve success. SBOBET and Macron are dynamic companies and they are very much part of our vision for the future."

SBOBET originally joined forces with West Ham United in December 2008, impressing the club with its understanding of the long-standing commitment to the Bobby Moore Fund, which reached a new level with the signing of a formal three-year partnership.

The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK (Registered Charity No. 1089464) logo will continue to be carried on all kit worn by the club's Academy sides as well as on child replica strips.

Founded in 1971, Macron is based in Crespellano, near the Italian city of Bologna. In recent years, the company has rapidly expanded its portfolio of high-profile clients, and as well as Napoli also provides kit for Serie A clubs Bologna FC 1909 and Cagliari Calcio 1920.

Macron also manufactures high-quality playing and training wear for basketball, handball, volleyball and rugby. It has links throughout Europe and operates under the message - work hard, play harder.

Looks like we will be staying with another 2 bob kit and sponser for the next 4 years. No suprise alot of Italian clubs use macron.

big game tomorow and the old cliche of "a must win game" springs to mind but we really have to get a win!

    come on you irons!

    Couldnt agree more.

A slight gap is opening, and the Hammers need a win. Problem is, we dont have the strikers to guarantee it. Plus, Fulham are fairly strong.

A truly worring situation is unfolding.

West Ham required 25-20 points pre Christmas as its almost a given that the club will be forced to cash in on its assets. Upson, Cole, Parker, and Green may go.

7 points at Halloween is an appalling return, with two of those points coming in games where the opposition spent a good portion of the game with 10 men.

Villa are in wait, and its unlikely that the Hammers will have anything more then 10 points before the international break.

Any word on Carlton Cole's injury?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Het-Field

Tomorrow is a huge game. Hopefully, in a weekend where the big guns have not been at their best, and Chelsea have had a relatively rocky peroid, the Hammers could take advantage.

On another note, now that Hughes has been given the chop from City, I firmly believe that the board should be looking to give Zola the boot. The man is not able to work with what he has.

what do you lot think of the takeover?

ive warmed to g&s but i dont like the idea of moving from upton park to the olympic stadium.

lots of new striking options for the weekend hopefully the start of better times

I think we could have a decent season , preseason going well and I think Grant will have the team playing as a unit , Hitzleberger was a great buy and in time Barrera will be good , if we keep hold of Parker we should be strong in midfield and Cole should get about 15 goals ! Top 8 maybe :)

Newstalk reporting Robbie Keane possibly signing for the Hammers. Would love to see him play for us and it might give him (and us) the boost he needs

A perfect foil for Carlton Cole. Three Bennies, Zavon Hines, Fredric Piquionne, Frank Nouble, and Fred Sears are either too young, to similar to CC, or too crap.

However, I want to see the defence beefed up asap. Marc Wilson and Luke Young would be my preferred signings.

Gold says they won't say no to a £6,000,000 bid.
I'd love to see him leave if it means we can get 6M for him.

I'd actually love to see Upson head away.....he is a bit sh1t,I dont see why he is always put up there with CC,Parker and Green as our best player, and I'm sick to death of hearing about him wanting away from West Ham and all.
    Get rid of him

What are your thoughts and opinions on Gold and Sullivan? Personally, I think they're an embarrasment.

They've been coming out with ''we're in for Raul, Ronaldinho, Beckham, Henry etc'' when in reality they know they have no chance of getting any of them (it's just a ploy to get supporters to puchase season tickets IMO) and end up with the likes of Piqiuonne and Ben-Haim instead.

They've raised ticket prices to an unbeliveably high price and personally I can't believe the West Ham fans seem to be accepting them with open arms.

The only reason they've taken over the club is to get access to the Olympic Stadium so they can make money, IMO.

To be honest I like them, they've appointed a good manager and given him money to spend,I tend to believe most of the stuff they say, like the announced a 5 year plan for the club there a few months back and it's not all fantasy stuff.
Add to that that everything they've promised they have delivered (keeping the best players etc)

Very confident we'll stay up to be honest. Have been for a good while. Great username by the way.

You can say that again, then again, had Vidic got a red and two nil up who knows, overall I think we were second best but had Vidic gone, I think a different result. Ya get no luck when down the bottom !

Great to see our talisman at least being shortlisted, I guarantee you he won't get it thought, it will be Vidic as he plays for Man You and Scottie plays for us, if Scottie was playing for Man You he be a cert to get it. At least he was recognised with player of the month for February.
Very confident we'll stay up to be honest. Have been for a good while. Great username by the way.

Thanks, Vic Watson was the man !!

I'm on the fence re confidence on staying up, If the northern reds had have beaten WBA last weekend that would have helped, I think it can go anyway at this stage, we have the quality but I'm a firm believer that no team too good to go down. It's a strange league this year and anything can happen.

Here is my Prediction for remainder of season, would love to hear all yours -

    Bolton - Draw
    Villa - Win
    Chelsea - Lose
    City - Lose

    Blackburn - Win
    Wigan - Draw
    Sunderland - Win

    11 points plus 32 = 43 - still might not be enough !!!

Tight as a ducks arse down there ! Come on you Irons !

Bolton bogey team - a win there would be super duper !

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

I can actually see us draw at Chelsea.

Draw at Bolton, win against Villa, draw at Chelsea, lose against City, Blackburn, Wigan and Sunderland will be wins.

I'd say we've a chance of beating Bolton the weekend in fairness,,and with a bit of luck perhaps a draw at Chelsea or City....I'm confident we'll stay up anyway

    Get rid of him

I completely agree, he was at fault for 2 of those goals last weekend (again), he is out of contract at season end so... bye bye Upson.

Why Scottie isn't captain is beyond me anyways - I've been saying that for the last three years.

I was surprisingly more confident of staying up last season to be honest. Even though we were absolute dog$hit, I was always certain that Burnley and Hull wouldn't pick up the points required to stay up.
I'm extremely worried this year as we have been on a very decent run of form recently and yet week after week the teams around us manage to pick up wins.

To be honest I don't care if we get tonked by Chelsea, the games that will decide our fate are the Wigan, Blackburn and Villa ones. Win those three and we stay up.

Badly needed alright, we haven't had one in a long time

This is the problem, the relegation can go any way. We are playing well but others are picking points :o

The full lyrics - All together now !

    Verse 1

    I'm dreaming dreams,
    I'm scheming schemes,
    I'm building castles high.
    They're born anew,
    Their days are few,
    Just like a sweet butterfly.
And as the daylight is dawning,
They come again in the morning.

    Chorus

    I'm forever blowing bubbles,
    Pretty bubbles in the air.
    They fly so high,
    Nearly reach the sky,
    Then like my dreams,
    They fade and die.
    Fortune's always hiding,
    I've looked everywhere,
    I'm forever blowing bubbles,
    Pretty bubbles in the air.

    Verse 2

    When cattle creep,
    When I'm asleep,
To lands of hope I stray.
    Then at daybreak,
    When I awake,
    My bluebird flutters away.
Happiness new seemed so near me,
Happiness come forth and heal me.

    Chorus

    I'm forever blowing bubbles,
    Pretty bubbles in the air.
    They fly so high,
    Nearly reach the sky,
    Then like my dreams,
    They fade and die.
    Fortune's always hiding,
    I've looked everywhere,
    I'm forever blowing bubbles,
    Pretty bubbles in the air.

I see the London police basically assaulted one of our fans and then made up a violent disorder charge after the Millwall Carling Cup game last season.
    Story Here
Absolute scumbags. There were so many idiotic things done by the police on that night by the sounds of it.

Once again we haven't turned up at Bolton. Why oh why oh why. Jacobson and Cole on at half time. Da Costa and Picquionne have to go off.

Why is Grant basically playing 4 5 1 - ridiculous

Upson off, he is crap anyways. Bye bye, if you don't want to play for us bye bye

So far for my prediction of getting something at Bolton.

I can't see us avoid relegation atm.

I can't see us avoid relegation atm.

No, I'm afraid I'm sceptical too... Unless Blackpool slip in but Wolves have an easier run in - they are the only team down there that don't have any of the top 5 to play. In reality it can go any way at this point.

Hammer Archer - I take back my post dismissing your You Tube Video of Paolo - It could very well be him, he has a tattoo in the right place anyways ! Apology accepted? What a legend !

I suppose I'll accept your apology vic ;)

Villa next weekend is an enormous game. We really need to get back into our stride before the two away games against Chelsea and City. Lose next week and we probably won't have a chance of picking up anything until May 7th :( By then it could be too late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,288 ✭✭✭fkiely

I'm still confident about staying up to be honest. Three home games against Villa, Wolves and Blackburn coming up, which should get us at least 7 points in my book. We haven't done great the last couple of games but either have any of the teams I had pencilled in for relegation. Will be tight however.
