Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had a main dealer service on a Grand CMax yesterday, told me new brake pads needed front and back. Now I’m no mechanic so won’t be doing them myself but they were looking for €315 parts and labour. This sounds very high to me, would you agree? I since got a price at the local tyre place (I also need 2 new tyres) , who I trust but I didn’t know did repairs for €130. It’s a no brainer right??

Im no mechanic either but brake pads a easy and fairly quick to do so yea €300+ is madness but that main dealers for you. Just dont let the pads go down too far or you can mess up the caliper piston and then it becomes a bigger job.

Its not very bad tbh for a main dealer and you cant compare a dealer with other garages so say the pads in the dealer are 50 euro each so 100 for parts, then maybe 2 hours work at around 160 so they are a little bit dear but not day light robbery. They may do a flush as well f0r that so it's not very bad imo.

And they wont be fitted by a tyre fitter too :)

Does it definitely need them. Apparently my car needed discs and pads at every service with the Ford dealer, even when I had got them changed elsewhere between services.

I got front and rear brake pads done last month on a C-Max. Parts came to €149 incl. VAT
