Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My four year old son is obsessed with the guardians of the galaxy soundtrack. It’s so funny watching him sing along to songs that are older than me, never mind him.
He is hyjacking my Spotify account and has the awesome mix 1 playlist repeating. Currently bopping along to “hooked on a feeling” by Johnny maestro & Brooklyn Bridge :D

Just back from the second interview for a job. I’m in the last 3. The interview was supposed to be tomorrow but changed to today so hurray for not knowing, I’d have had a restless night thinking about it.

Full day up and about. Did many of my usual chores and not flagging too much yet. And have been told I can drive again from tomorrow - I had visions of my six week old car sitting immobile in the driveway with cobwebs shrouding it.

Some of my school year's off to a mock interview in Oracle tomorrow.

I did one on 2nd Feb 2018. Somehow, I wasn't rated on the questions. I was rated 5/5 on all other aspects, except body language, which was rated a 3.

Happy that I have kind neighbours; called the ferryman to ask if he would kindly cover the back window of the car for me as he is going over today; he was already thinking of that. There is a shower curtain in the car I was using as a rain cape.

Also he had mentioned a local garage man 'always found one in small rural areas and they are ace. So he will call him for me.

This is in three parts; once the car is protected, get the part and then get it fitted.

We were talking about how it happened and I said I have read that even a bird can explode glass like that; some bizarre stories on google. It is a 2000 car so getting old and fragile. I think he, as I, wanted to rule out it having been anyone local as we are a very close small community here and that would upset them

So there is the acceptable " reason" that he will put round; he sounded upset when I called him.

Still feeling "poorly" but fire lit and will settle now.

I was complaining about how dry the skin on my hands is and how rubbish my dry shampoo was the other day. Came in this morning and my work bestie had left a lovely Lancôme hand cream and salon-brand dry shampoo in my desk drawer :)

so yes. That coat was too unusual to be just some genetic flaw. They are much more attractive than the Devon and Cornish Rexes I am used to

and if you want to see some seriously weird cats, google images Cornish Rex,,,

Was all set to be in a stinker of a humour, as I am wrecked tired and got stuck in work till late.
Instead I got a takeaway on the way home, got straight into the PJs and the bed, and just downloaded the hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy audiobook read by Stephen fry.
So I am trivially happy that I don't have to suit anyone else tonight, and can just retreat into my introverts paradise of bed and audio books!

Yes I was pleasantly surprised this week to see mine (fully comp ncb protected) had dropped by €120 because the new car is petrol and 200cc smaller than the last one.

The few minutes of hope as you scratch a shiny scratchcard and dream about never going to work again. Or even for a week or two.
I rarely do the lotto but when I do I feel like one of those X-Factor hopefuls who is convinced that "this is going to change my life and my families lives. I'll be able to provide for us all and have a good life". I spend a day living the fantasy where I'll be able to ditch my crappy paying job and live the MTV Cribs dream. Then I check my numbers and I haven't even won a scratch card and it all comes crashing down. I have to go back to work and it's all the fault of those evil people who brainwashed me into believing me that "it could be you". I vow never to be sucked in again as it's just a waste of money.......

Until the next time the jackpot is high and I convince myself that this time the universe is on my side and I am somehow deserving of winning. So I go and pick my numbers. Quick pick is not for me as they give you silly numbers that never come up - last time I did euro millions quick pick I got 08, 09, 10, 11. That's obviously a fix and i'm being stitched up by the lotto overlords just like the contestants are stitched up by evil producers. I pick my own numbers which this time are going to be lucky.........until they aren't.

    And rinse and repeat :o

My brother's going to sort out a Windows 10 Pro installation tomorrow, in an attempt to alleviate the internet issues I'm having with the likes of Discord and OneNote, along with the proxy server, which seems to switch itself on every now and then.

A quiet early day .. well apart from the snoring of the dog!

Had a good phone call to family in Canada and some good news items that make me at ease on many things...

a day ahead; maybe will be able for walking the dog.

Had a long face to face with the stray stinker of a tom cat! Eye to eye, me laying down the law! Emerges there is now some confusion re who is caring for him. he used to live here but the old man died over 5 years ago. Cats are fiercely territorial. Hence the frequent rows here with my cats. And the copious STINKY spraying..

So I am trying island "gossip"! That I would welcome him in the house BUT not unless and until he is "fixed". And that I would be happy to sort that myself. That will go the rounds and we will see.. the ferry man also reads the ESB meters so a good person to spread news ..

    Island life! A place apart..
