Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for all the efforts on this, was good craic taking part and seeing all the results coming on the day. Good to do it for a cause too. Look forward to the next one!

Just if anyone is updating the table again, I ran 19:45 on the day but my time above is showing as 22:02 :(

I'm not bothered about it though, honestly.........

As promised, a version of the results including cagtegory age grading. Not everyone’s bag (and please feel free to ignore it if you object to AG). Just a bit of fun, to put some performances in more perspective and to allow at least a rudimentary (some would say meaningless) comparison between age categories and genders. (Because it's based on Categories, your actual AG, based on your actual age, may be slightly higher or lower than these numbers).

The table auto sorts by AG (descending) and can be re-sorted by clicking on the head of any column (maybe not on your smartphone).

For those not familiar, Age Grading expresses your time as a percentage of the world record for your age (or in this case, your age category). The ‘adjusted time’ (if I’ve done the sums right) expresses your result in terms of the equivalent performance by a senior male runner (ie 18-34 years) runner.

Again, just a bit of fun. :) Let me know if you spot any mistakes. The original spreadsheet is on Google Docs here:

By this measure, the top 3 AG performances are:

    1. ultrapercy 87.1%
    2. dna_leri 84.9%
    3. zico10 82.2%

The three best female AG performances are:

    1. Laineyfrecks 76.6%
    2. Sussex18 75.5%
    3. Hedgehoggy 74.9%

    Other observations:

    Biggest sandbaggers are:

    1. py (01:46)
    2. MisterJinx (01:27)
    3. Ivory Tower (01:10)

    Most optimistic predictors:

    Anyone with a DNF (4),

    Best predictors:
    1. token56 (-2 secs)
    2. Murph_D (+3 secs)
    3. AGYR / /hedgehoggy (+4 secs)

(Didn't do the sums but in general women seem better at predicting their times than the lads.)

    Median AG: 71.8%

Women are less likely to DNS (only 1) and DNF (0).

    Aren't women just great :D
And men seem to be the biggest sandbaggers:eek: (surprise, surprise)

Thanks for this D, looks like a lot of work & it's nice to see the run in regards to age/gender.

That’s my fault, I obviously got you mixed up with another runner, my bad. I’ll let Murph amend your time if he’d be so good to do so. I’d mess the table up!!

Ah B, don't be getting all soft...you have a reputation to uphold. I will happily accept the penalty for not knowing how to use my own watch :(

As pointed out, that changes the sandbaggers table. With some other adjustments, that result is now::

    1. Woody1 ((01:54)
    2. py (01:46)
    2. MisterJinx (01:27)

    Median AG is still: 71.8%

Thanks for all the efforts on this, was good craic taking part and seeing all the results coming on the day. Good to do it for a cause too. Look forward to the next one!

Just if anyone is updating the table again, I ran 19:45 on the day but my time above is showing as 22:02 :(

I'm not bothered about it though, honestly.........

Going by the official result. You'll have to talk to the boss!

Edit: I see you have. Adusted above.

If you give me the correct age category your result will probably improve a good bit!

    Aren't women just great :D
And men seem to be the biggest sandbaggers:eek: (surprise, surprise)

Thanks for this D, looks like a lot of work & it's nice to see the run in regards to age/gender.

Women ARE great - it would be nice to see a few of ye getting to 80% and over, all the same! ;)

So 7 out of 54 men got 80% or more...not exactly brilliant;)

Yep that's my goal, 80% or more for my age, which may I add goes up again in the coming weeks:D

Joking aside it really is great seeing it worked out like this & everyone that took part did great :)

Thanks again to B for all the organisation and yourself for this table! Fair play :D

Not too many reasons to shout about getting older but this is one :D

My aim is 70% for now and we'll go from there, hopefully the only way will be up :)

I think its the age grade. It's explained in better detail below but essentially its a measure of your performance against the world record for your age and gender, so if you ran a WR time in the TT you would have 100%.

As Adrian said. From the original post:
For those not familiar, Age Grading expresses your time as a percentage of the world record (road) for your age (or in this case, your age category). The ‘adjusted time’ (if I’ve done the sums right) expresses your result in terms of the equivalent performance by a senior male (ie 18-34 years) runner.

Just catching up here, age grade time is 23.01??? Deadly. Does that mean if I was 18-34, that's the time I'd be running? That ship has unfortunately sailed :D.

Hope you're on the mend B.

I once more posted out the bottle openers to you folks who kindly requested them off me, and once again they were sent back!!! But this time I received a reason, because of the way they were designed(my fault) they are deemed as a weapon so they cannot be posted.

I’m sorry for this guys as many of you contributed to a worthy cause on the back of receiving a TT bottle opener. When I get back to Ireland I will get them to ye, again I’m sorry.
