    That Arklow harbour is cool! Not just cold ;).
    This was the canal at Castleknock Station on Christmas Eve. It's still slightly frozen even yet.

    Heres some pics of Mullagh lake (not far from kells) frozen over on christmass day

    Thats amazingly thick ice. Seems like its greater than the recommended 5inches to walk on too.

    its a shame i was too late and missed them breaking trough the ice, ive a video of the previous year when they needed a sledg hammer, the ice was nowhere near as thick.

    Also one of the village elders was telling me that back in the day before health and safety, it was nothing unusual to walk horses across the lake to collect fire wood, and this was the worse for snow he's seen in a very long time :eek:
