Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Reminds me of sitting through a family argument at Christmas sometimes reading through posts here. Usually over a game of boggle or something equally innocuous and ridiculous. A small comment is made, reaction is coloured by previous run-in's, pre conceptions, misunderstanding.... reaction to reaction ensues etc etc. I take it as my cue to go for a fag, talk to the dog, and think about the never ending darkness and eternity of space for a while.

How much did a set of acl's for the sr20 set you back?

I got them at cost price but there about €100 or so from co-ord sport. Alot cheaper on ebay from the states, but can get stung with customs!

Previous cars, just for the craic. Had some fun times in these:

    In chronological order, backwards:

My Murano, minus front bumper due to repairs:

    My OPC:

The most boring of the lot - the 3-series. Hated this car:

My "run-around" while I was in the States

My IS250 - most comfortable car I've ever owned:

And lastly, my poor beloved S2000. I have never missed a car as much as this :(

Its the wiring for my dashcam - I have it running around the windscreen, down the driver door and under the steering wheel to the socket. It has come loose under the wheel - I can't find anything that will keep it stuck. I will be hardwiring it at some stage so this is the temporary solution :)

Sneaky that has to be one of the most beautiful ST's I've ever seen.

£50 but it may be more expensive to get it done stand alone.

    ST!? :D:D Cheers!

On mobile atm and photos are still on the laptop but I'll get them up tomorrow. This one is just a rough old 8v. Had it on a quick spin tonight. Lack of power steering is...interesting :pac:

Concentration is really being focused on the cab.

He has more of an interest in the mk2 than I do. So idk what it's future holds to be truthful. I kinda like the wheels and it has a nice momo steering wheel that would look good in the mk3.

Edit, a pic of the mk2

My definition of a sleeper :)

    Whats the automatic like ?

Personally I think the OPC version (2.8l, 4WD, 280BHP) is the real sleeper but mine holds its own. I don't think anyone expects it to be as quick as it is :D

Re: the automatic gearbox: Very good, very smooth. Wouldn't notice the gear changes and has a very nice power curve and delivery. Power kicks in nicely when overtaking although it could be slightly more responsive for that. I generally slip it into tiptronic for overtaking but other than that, its great.

Figured the BMW folks might like this :)

    30mrehf.jpg

No I haven't gone to the Dark Side :p It's a temp for the day while getting a few things done on my A6.

BMW 630i 3L petrol. Not bad admittedly, but it feels a lot heavier than my own surprisingly.

Still, one of the benefits of not having driven a manual in about a decade means you usually get something nice as a loaner!

Sticking with the Golf theme, sold this last year. Have since informed the new owner I want first dibs when they sell it! Bought as a runaround originally but fell in love with it. 2.0 8V with heated cream leather interior.

Audi is a 2.3 20v Quattro. My late Father got her years ago as a weekend runaround. Bringing back to best for wedding next year, got some Borbet Type A's ready and maybe a 30mm drop.

Yea they're beautiful in green. Dad bought her in Wexford off a lad who moved up to a Green S2 with cream.

Had a loan of this while my own was in with the dealer for a service today.

Bit of a sleeper, 240bhp 530d. The bodywork has seen better days but even with nearly 300k km on the clock it can move.

My 2.2 litre vecta c gtsc unbelievably quick in a straight line. Horrifying with corners.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,373 ✭✭✭selous

I had an 06 1.6 petrol Vectra, it was horrific on bends, corners and roundabouts, and was like a boat on a motorway, I put Koni gold shocks on it, within 6 months of buying it, it steadied it up, but not the going straight on corners, had it less than 2 years, never felt safe in it, loved the space in it though.

I have family in the motor industry who tweaked a few things in it and now it just fly's but the cornering is horrible at if your pushing out of it but easing out of it, it is fine.

I think it's an absolute crying shame that Ford made a Diesel ST.

I'm all for Diesel cars, they have a place and I even drive one myself now. However, they do not make for a sporty drive and people need to stop pretending that they do.

Make diesel cars. Sell powerful Diesel cars. Just stop ruining the "sporty" brands with them.
