    2011 Ford Smax.

Don't know why it needs a security code.

But I found it on a sticker by pulling out the ashtray insert!

You'll need to call the dealer for that one, failing that search for a company with a Martech kit, code has to be read from the radio unit itself.

Dealer be the best option in my opinion.

I can read the code for you but the radio would need to be at my workshop

I rang the local VW dealer, said they would need to hook it up and get the code from an online server, and would cost 90.
Anyway, I took a chance on buying the code on eBay for a fiver and it actually worked!
Thanks for the offer of help, but it's working now.

My mechanic fixed a problem on my Nissan Quashqai and since then I need to put in a radio code to get the radio working again. The radio code is not filled in in the user's manual. This was a second-hand car so I've no idea where I can get the code from. Any ideas?

When turned on what exactly is written on the screen ?

Find someone in your area who can repair / decode car stereo. Ask your garage where they get their radios decoded.

Trying to buy a code from a provider on ebay. They are asking for the serial number. Is this the serial number on the back of the actual radio itself?

Ring a local dealer if you don't get help here. It might not cost much.
