Hi I'm currently in the process of fitting a stove flexi flue. I've broken out the old fire back, and the chimney gap itself seems very tight. I had an old 5 inch flexi flue and tried to insert it up the chimney. I could not get it more than a foot up. So my question is, is it safe to change the shape of the circular pipe into a more oval shape to get it up the chimney, and then leave the end that connects into the stove circular. Or should I just buy 4 inch flexi flue and use extra fire cement to fill any gaps at the joints?. Thanks for any help. (Mods please move if in wrong section thanks).
