Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Would ya" and "I'd do her"

As I started a thread on here about women being a 'tad' irrational sometimes :D I thought I'd come back with one for the men.

There is one thing that makes me think men are absolutely nuts. The 'would ya' and the 'I'd do her' phenomenon.

Here's the scenario: two or more men are together and they're looking at a picture of a stunningly gorgeous celebrity, one will turn to the other and go 'Would ya?' The other one will cast an eye over a woman about twenty times better looking than him, as if weighing up her chance of being with him, and go 'I'd do her'.

I've heard this way too many times to count.

Girls do you ever just feel like shouting, "YOU F*CKING WISH!!!!"

Men are ye nuts or deluded or what? Imagine a woman going to another woman, "Here, would you do George Clooney?", "Ah I dunno if he'd get a chance like" :D

Men can look like a builders arse and get a woman if they are charming and/or wealthy.

    A woman?

She'd have to be damn wealthy!

They don't think they have a chance. The whole point is that if you had a chance, would you?

Men don't think with their heads ! A lot of the talk about women is more to do with boredom at work than genuine lust for the woman in question !

Think the implication is that if you were ACTUALLY given the chance to do a celeb there's a 0.001% chance you wouldn't..

Slight generalisation there. There are MANY 'celebs' I wouldn't go near. That Biancha one from Eastenders. I wouldn't touch her if I had a box of willys.

Girls do this even if someones tryin to say hello (as stated in numerous threads here).

According to scientific research it is known as the b!tch gene. Not all women have it but those that do seem oblivious to it

    For the record, I wouldn't.

There you go. That's why, it's a good laugh. Ive often had the "In a game of would ya, would ya" with one of the lads infront of a chick just to see the reaction. :D It's harmless fun.

Also it's a lot better than the chick that thinks that if I guy says hello to her at the bar he wants to get in her knickers and develops the bitch complex or testing whether the guy has "walking ATM" complex. (Note: This does not apply to all chicks, put them claws away ;) )

Its called the Beyonce complex ;) You can prevent becoming a victim of this by never ever paying for womans drink - they're independent women mmmmhhhmm, so if they can pay their own bills they can most certainly buy their own drink as well.

I say it all the tiime. Fit guy walks past and will turn to the girls and say "i would" or "yes please". Obviously would make sure he didnt hear me, i am a lady after all :)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,493 ✭✭✭Fulton Crown

In my experience it's the ...uh .."plainer" woman that is the subject of the "would you" remarks.

Particularly if in a group of males and there has been "drink taken".

To be honest I can appreciate that women get annoyed by this behaviour.

I believe the old Russian sayin

"There is no such thing as an ugly woman..there is only not enough vodka"

    Salut !!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,070 ✭✭✭✭pq0n1ct4ve8zf5

Do girls not do this also? It's more annoying when your average pasty-faced, walking-sack-of-nicotine-and-alcohol Irish guy is looking through a magazine like FHM with other similar looking guys (or watching porn or whatever), and saying "God she's manky isn't she? Wouldn't go near her!" That's just lying.

What do you want the men to say to each other

"Oh Cedric, do you believe this lady is pretty?"
"Oh yes felix I wonder if her dance card is full?"

    Come on girls.

Here is the example for you.

If a bloke met his "no strings" she would just brush past him if he said "Im sorry, your going to have to sleep with me because you are my no strings"

If a girl met her no strings and said the same she would be dragged like a cavewoman by the hair straight to bed.

Moral the story. Every woman is a slut because women take C*CK!!!

I ask my bf what celebs he'd do. It's just a bit of a joke. There is no point saying ''Yeah right, you wish!". It's obvious he's never going to run into Angelina Jolie down in Spar or whatever.

I don't think it's a male phenomenon either. Sure, me and my friends ask each other if we'd do a certain guy or not. I thought everyone did this?

It basically boils down to this:You could talk about a girl for hours saying how much you hate her,how she annoys you etc.etc.and then who ever your talking to...(has to be a lad) can just go ''But would ya do her though??''
which the normal response is ''Oh yea id defo ride her!!i mean shes a ****ing fool but id take that ass apart''

    Sad but True ladies.

I thought everybody knew what this meant, must have completely zoomed over your head. If the celeb is stunningly gorgeous then they are obviously being sarcastic.
Girls do you ever just feel like shouting, "YOU F*CKING WISH!!!!"
Ehh they are wishing, so people do not say it since it is stating the obvious and would make them look like idiots for not getting the joke/sarcasm. It is nothing to do wtih "her chance of being with him", it is just a joking way of asking if you think she is good looking too (or not)

Yep, no point saying "you wish", it makes no sense. It would be like saying "would you like to win the lottery"
    "ehh, yeah, I suppose so"
"YOU WISH!!!, haha you fool!! you don't have a FU*KING hope"
    "ehh, yeah, I know...."
