    Hi all

Anybody know where i can offload some DVDs. Having a clearout and have in excess of a hundred DVDs that are just gathering dust.

I'd prefer to sell them all together instead of placing ads and selling them individually.

Anyone know of any shops that'll buy them all.

I contacted Cash Converters and they said its 50cent each for any DVD. Any better prices around?

GameStop sells pre-owned DVDs, I think they used to offer €0.75 to €1 for them each, but that could be different now, worth checking with them anyway.

Didnt get rid of them yet.

Places were offering 50cent each so for that price i'd rather hang on to them.

If i get time i might put them up on adverts.ie

Would Bell, Book and Candle be interested in them? Beside the Crane Bar, Sea Road I think.
Charlie Byrnes had a section of DVDs in the shop recently too.

Very hard to shift DVD's tbh. I've had an add on adverts for a couple of years now at €2 per DVD and they sell very very slowly, never mind the hassle with timewasters. 50 cent a DVD is probably as good as you will get tbh. I trade mine in now in gamestop when I see something I like and they still only give 75cent on a trade in.
    Charity shop maybe?

Would you consider going to a car boot sale and shifting them that way

out of interest are they very old, average films or more recent and blockbusters?
can you name a few titles?
Could always post on adverts.ie and say selling in bulk, could get €3/4 per dvd (if sold seperately)

So, in essence dvds are worth less than a euro ?
I have a stockpile of them and want rid of them but cannot justify dumping them.. and I personally would'nt buy a dvd again given other technology available. It's become the new VHS :D

It is something like 90% of video is downloaded now so Yes DVD's are going the way of VHS.
I did a car boot sale once with mine and ended up only selling about 10 in a full day. With the cost of a pitch I made I think €20 for 6 hours sitting in the freezing cold:mad:

Its very hard to sell them, You could give them to charity , Simon charity shop in Sea Road would be glad to get them , also you are helping a good cause , you dont have to give the whole lot . its your decision.

Get a few snaps where titles are showing and stick them up on ebay, adverts and/or donedeal.

Bell, book and candle in Little Crane might take them (if they're still there) but online is usually best.

Can you upload them to putlocker so I can download them?

Totally depends on the dvd titles.. If the dvds are Irish related or specialist titles, (GAA, foreign movies or trad music) then adverts.ie & you will get a good price. If the dvd's are the mass produced Hollywood stuff, then I would say charity shops.

If you haven't already, rip em to AVIs. It took me a long time to find a program that ripped them fast enough to make it worthwhile. I use DVDFab to rip to avi which is clever enough to load DVDs in both trays and rip one after another. Will do this in about 20 mins per DVD.

DVDs are obsolete, as are bluerays and the next gen format. No one cares about more pixels. We want on-demand cloud based streaming... instant gratification. Until Netflix or some other crowd get their act together avis and a personal NAS is the best solution.
