Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fibre Broadband issues

Eir sent a tech to wire our new house for Fibre Broadband but found our house is too far from the exchange for the Fibre to work, and the tech said we should get an ADSL connection. But now another tech has said the ADSL isn't much better, it will only get us speeds of 2 to 4MB at best.

What are our options for getting a higher speed?

Will these low speeds be an issue with any provider, not just with Eir, because its an infrastructure problem of the cabinet being so far from the house?

    What alternatives exist?

Put your Eircode into airwire.ie to see what you can get. They have the best database I find.

The database is the same everywhere. Airwire are just honest in how they present it. *

    * There are cases where they do clever guessing but the above is mostly true.
