Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yeah applehunter

I have a suspicion that he is modelling himself on a parody of what we think of him, it's the only explanation of why he's getting worse over time. I imagine he might be saying "they thought I was BAD, I'll show them what BAD actually is, <insert manic laugh> let them eat cake, they are paying for me through their taxes".

Now THAT’s what I’d call an eclectic line-up. (Emphasis courtesy of Ryan himself)

Jedward - Dear Lord - 25 minutes of cringemaking insanity

With a lot of fake laughing from the host.

Fauci - interesting - but probably on for <5 minutes. Kellie Harrington - great attitude, saw her before and she was infinitely more engaging than Ryan - 5 or 6 minutes if we are lucky.

Jedward - Dear Lord - 25 minutes of cringemaking insanity

15 plugs for the Toy Show, and what spiffing great fun and jolly japes it will be

All preceded by the 15 minute Sermon on the Mount Montrose from our host, the Toyman, lecturing us on how to behave.

    Good Luck!

Jedward are only on cos of their recent tweets - great selection there Tubridy.
Oh and they tweet approved stuff like mask wearing with accompanying pic of said mask hanging off one of their twinny chins and that JK Rowling's books should be burned beacuse she's a ... <well, you know the kind of mind numbing sh1t zeleb twitterers tweet>
I wonder will Ryan Be Kind Tubridy ask them about the old delicious book burning and misogyny towards JKR?
    Hmmm.
In other news, I suspect they have a CD to hawk (hence the recent tweets)

I'd agree with Cat that there is an element of trying to wind up his critics (including those on this thread), which IMO is a defence mechanism that thinly veils an awareness that he doesn't have anything substantial to offer audiences.

He's not a respected political analyst or film/book critic. He's not a comedian. He's not known for being a good interviewer. He's not an expert on anything. He's just a privileged waffler.

On some level he knows this, so he's desperate to brand himself as the eccentric Willy Wonka Toyman. Or BookMan. Or NerdMan. Or 'JimmyStewartMan.

And who could forget the 'Conscience of the Nation' persona. The fella who commends the people of Ireland for being 'good eggs' and scolds others for being mean like a third class múinteoir. He has really spotted an opportunity to ramp this one up with covid. That's why he's getting up people's noses more than ever.

He's just a a puppet. He just spouts whatever he believes will keep him his job. There are many many far talented people who would be far more suited to both his radio and TV jobs, but they wouldn't be as well behaved as him. It is such a shame because imagine how much fun the Late Late would be with Tommy Tiernan or something with an ounce of humour, spontaneity and courage.

Does Ryan's studio really have a CRT tv on the wall, honestly what a bloody kip of place that should be leveled to dust.

Welcome Donegal to the Covid naughty step.

Ryan 'I really hate talking about covid all the time' Tubridy talking about covid.
Tonight, in his light entertainment slot on RTE, he'll be talking to Dr Fauci about covid in America.
That'll be after a Mammy of the Nation speech to Donegal about covid, probably.

Oh and to Jedward - about their covid related tweets.

Ryan wont enjoy Partridge. He might see a parallel between the 'high noon' story on the podcast and his own life though, could turn it into a misery slot on bullying.

If he read the article he'd have seen that the statue has nothing to do with APs podcast.

I really find it hard to take a lecture exhorting me to make charitable donations from a guy who is creaming off €400k plus for a few hours work.

    Talk about taking the biscuit!

You left out "entitled", "deluded", and "condescending".

Yes I agree, but far far more pertinent.

    Ryan Tubridy is useless.

A void of inexplicable inability and inarticulacy, in proportion to the ludicrous career advancement at such inordinate expense and cost.

    It's vile.

This is an excellent post.....i really hope the dainty little bugger reads this thread to understand how much he disgusts everyone...

If he really views himself as the king of kindness, let him volunteer 50% of his salary..

That will still leave him vastly overpaid!

Going to go against the grain here, but quite enjoyed todays show.
But I think its because the 2 guests were decent today. Enda comes across as a civil spud.

Thankfully I didn't hear today's offering. Was the Enda ,Enda Kenny by chance. I haven't heard anything from the gimp for months, then I read his name here and 2 minutes later he's advertising something on the radio. He must be on a comeback

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,029 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    Yip, Enda Kenny it was.
He has a new TV programme coming up about railways, and also he was chatting about the hospice work, hence the advert you heard.

I like Paul McGrath but I found both interviews boring.

    Another bereavement special.

The dainty bugger has been gunning for this kind of gig lately.

He's dreaming of a post LLS life inter-railing around Europe on some vintage locomotive, exploring the gorgeous old bookshops of Vienna and Prague.

    Make it so.

I will give Kenny a chance on his railways show, but I quite like portillo's show (which I thought I wouldn't given his previous political life) and find him engaging while not making the show about himself

Was that a regular pint? Or one of his all-time favourites, captures in a photographic memory?
