Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Notice the difference in the genere and i like all of the above to .....:)

Yes ,the Police played in the grounds of Leixlip about 20 odd years ago and i remember the gig for 2 reasons .It as a nice sunny day but also blowing a bit of wind so as a live gig ,the sound was all over the place ,and secondly some low life skinhead threw a bottle up on the stage which hit Sting who was not in the least pleased .He gave the guy a piece of his mind to ...not the greatest of police gigs

just on a side note > the police lived in ireland for a while back in the 80s for tax reasons, seemingly they couldn't wait to leave because of all the anti-brit hassle they were getting.

Touche! That was for the Crush tour in 2000, was at that gig :D
Actually Glorious is so annoying at this stage. Way better songs on Liebling, most of which was played at that specific gig. Album is definitely worth a listen.

List of my standout gigs, in no particular order.

    U2 (Slane 2001)
    The Police (Croke Park 2007)
    Metallica (RDS 2004)
    Simple Minds (Point 1995)
    Def Leppard (Point 1996)
    The Stooges (Slane 2004)
    Sugar (Dalymount Park 1993)
Faith No More (Dalymount Park 1993)
    Therapy? (SFX 1993)
    Kerbdog (SFX 1993)
    Marillion (Vicar St 2004)
    The Mission (Manchester Academy 2007)
    Foo Fighters (SFX 1995)

Faith no more. They were one of the first major gigs i went to i think. It was in dalymount. It was supposed to be red hot chilli peppers headlining i think but they pulled out.
pearl jam in Slane was probably best gig I was at. Mosh pit at front for a 15-16 yo girl was unreal. Then neil young while sitting on the hill as sun went down. FAB
was at one of last trip to tip but don't remember much of it. But happy mondays or the like must have been there. I rem utah saints I think and prodigy
    u2 in cork. Excellent.
Oasis in the point without liam who couldn't be arsed to show up. Excellent
    genesis( not by choice )(good:o)
Grew up in a small village in cork where all the irish bands used to come in the late 80's 90's so saw all the likes of something happens saw doctors ect( thru a crack in a window though) was too young to be let in.:(
saw duran duran last year(melowing in my old age) and they were brill
George michael in point last year. Excellent
Aslan when ever they were around which was constantly. Always put on good show though.
Mundy last summer but the guy before him was way better
was at loads of festivals and was probably so totally out of plus so long ago it can't really remember.
faithless. i rem them at a homelands or creamfields .they were excellent.
and of course All the big djs Carl cox and armin van buuren and mr spring being among the best(again these were years ago)

Ok... I'm including some acts which I did not set out to see but happened to be on the same bill. Here goes:

    In Tua Nua - U.C.D. (early 80s')

The Fountain Head - Lark in The Park (Blackrock) (1984)
Status Quo - Knebworth Park (1986)
    Queen - Knebworth Park (1986)
Something Happens - McGonagles and National Stadium (1980's)

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - The Point (early 90s)
Nancy Griffiths (twice) - second time in Point (mid-1990's)

That's right - I'm correcting my own post!

The Stunning -National Stadium (1988) - should be Olympic Ballroom
The Primitives - National Stadium (1988) - should be Olympic Ballroom

    Additions:
The Waterboys - Olympic Ballroom (1987)
The Incomparable Benzini Brothers (i.e. some Hothouse Flowers) at the same venue, same time
The Fountain Head - McGonagles (1988)
Hell Fire Club (at above gig) - McGonagles (1988)
    Simple Minds - R.D.S. (early '90s)
Dignam and Goff (backing Something Happens) - National Stadium ('80s)
