Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

PLC - 8 distinctions is that all that counts?

I'm trying to decide which PLC course to do to try to get on to Level 8 Science leading to Zoology.

My options are: Level 5 Science with 11 modules or Level 5 Animal Care with 8 modules.

Am I right in thinking that only 8 distinctions can be considered for progression even if I get 11?

I know I would do better with the Animal Care course but if its a case of having as many distinctions as possible in order to get offered a Level 8 place it would make more sense to do that... wouldn't it??

Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Only your 8 best modules get counted towards your points, which is what counts when applying to third level; so yes only 8 distinctions will be counted, although usually there are 5 modules that you are required to have distinctions in.

Great, thank you. I was wondering if it came down to it whether they looked further than the 8 distinctions when awarding places.
