Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would this work as a backstop?

If the netting in the "golf driving net" below was replaced with heavier duty archery spec netting, would it make a good backstop for arrows? Also could carpet or heavy blanket be hung from it as an inexpensive alternative to proper netting?

My understanding is that if the material is hanging and is not secured at the sides and bottom, the movement of the material when an arrow hits it will absorb most/all of the energy and the arrow will drop harmlessly to the ground without penetrating. Is this correct? BTW for the setup I'm thinking of if an arrow did manage to get through the backstop there would be no danger to people or animals but arrows and property would get damaged.

Carpet and what-not will stop arrows, especially if fired from a recurve. Only thing is though, that bracket doesn't look much bigger than the size of a target boss plus stand. I don't reckon it would give coverage much bigger than the target itself.

Thanks for that Panserborn, the frame in the pic is apparently 2.14 metres tall by 2.75 metres wide. The golfer in the pic looks out of proportion :) I reckon the net would give good protection to the side of the target boss/stand but not much protection above it.
