Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Age at death - parish or civil

    According to the civil record of her death Anne O'Neill was aged 48 years when she died in 1879.
    The parish record states that she was 55 years.

    Which is more likely to be closer to the truth?

    From my experience of records from that era, she's likely to be anything between 40 and 60!

    I have a possible baptism in an adjoining parish (Rathaspick 1825) but nothing yet to confirm it.

    I've spot checked a few of the more distinctive names on that page and where there are reasonably good matches their reported ages also differ - e.g. William Cox shown as 27 in the RC register is reported as 28 on the BMD Index, Bridget Keenan is 75 on the register and 82 on the BMD Index.
