    More Changes

    Week starting 26 May

Corrie is at 9PM Monday, May 26 to Thursday, May 29. PM, No Corrie on Friday!

The 9pm timeslot comes as Coronation Street airs some of its biggest episodes of the year, featuring the shock murder of show favourite Tina McIntyre.

As with previous 'event weeks' for Corrie, Digital Spy understands that the 9pm slot is purely a scheduling decision and not related to the content of the episodes, which remain suitable for a family audience.

BBC One's EastEnders will also have a slightly different schedule across the week, airing at the earlier time of 7.30pm for each of its episodes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

While EastEnders will be going head-to-head with Britain's Got Talent and the England game, keeping the fixed 7.30pm slot ensures that ITV's rival broadcasts won't have a head-start in the ratings battle.

I hope it's only a temporary thing - they should stick to the 5 episodes they already have every week and focus on making better quality storylines rather than an extra episode of the same old crap they've been churning out for over a year now...

Fair City, EastEnders, Pobol y Cwm, Doctors, Holby City, Casualty, and River City have all shut down production due to Coronavirus.

EastEnders will be airing only 2 episodes a week, effective immediately, on Mondays and Tuesdays, so next new episode will be Monday March 23d.

Fair City also only going to be airing 2 episodes a week, as of next week. The schedule for what days that will happen doesn't seem to have been decided yet.

Announcements on whether any of the others I mentioned above will cut back on the amount of episodes they air have yet to be made.

Neighbours has also temporarily shut down production for a few days, but currently their plan is to be back filming next Monday, and at the moment it is unlikely to change their airing schedule.

Ros na Rún have already finished filming for the season, and aren't due back to start production on next season until late July/early August, so as of now, they should continue as usual.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street are business as usual for the time being, but are monitoring the situation. No word on Hollyoaks or Home & Away as of yet, that I know of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Corrie & Emmerdale are to cut back episodes starting next week, although production will continue for the time being.

Corrie will air just one episode on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays - so 3 eps a week.

Emmerdale are dropping the second episode on Thursday nights, but everything else continuing as usual - so still 5 eps a week.
