Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's far enough. You've made a mistake subscribing to a thread like this, with a forum filled with people like us. This'll sound like preventive-propaganda, but I hated mech mods 6 months ago... now they're all I vape.
You're lucky because you're stepping into the golden age.

lol i dont tend to do things by halfs either, so heres to empty pockets!!
already planning my first mod as a reward to myself for staying off the smokes a month (or at least thats what im telling myself its for) :-P

Where did you get the origen clone grindle? Was thinking of getting one until I watched riptrippers review, kinda put me off.

The nemesis clone is great alright, where did you get the brass looking bits?

Got mine from Denmark but Paul Nevin from ESI got them in a week after I got it - contact him on FB to buy it. €45.
Not sure why Rip dislikes it so much - the airholes are a smidge smaller than what he usually goes for I think, but there are two comments from him I definitely disagree with:

Atty gets hot to touch (more than any device he's ever used, apparently)
Not for me it doesn't. After voltage drop my atties are pushing 32w down to 24w from freshly-charged to needing-a-charge-again.
Atty feels cooler than my iGO-W, but that does have thin walls, so...
The outside of my carto tank with the Killer inside felt warmer and was really warm when I tried dual-coils in it - again, dual-coils, tiny chamber and extremely thin walls, probably an unfair comparison.

You can't tell when it's getting dry
Huge coincidence but I was only just commenting about this last night - I can tell from the sound of the crackle when I'm about to go dry, and the Origen with it's vertical coils hasn't had any effect on that at all. I've found nano-coils are harder to gauge that with in general, may be made worse with super-nanos. I dunno, he doesn't have that problem in other atties but I don't have it in the one he does have it with.

He says he even prefers the Trident to the Origen which feels like madness to me, there's something smoother about Origen's vape, possibly because the air is being pulled up over the whole coil rather than straight into a part of the coil and then up. But that's just guessing.

Given that's it's fairly expensive for a clone and I hate spending money (or so I tell myself) it should go without saying that I'd only be having the one f them, but I will be buying a second if the 3D dripper doesn't float my boat.

I bought the brass and SS versions just to mix them up.

Pique: imagine I wrote 'clone' more than I did.

It is a pricey one - must be worth it to me if I'm considering a second. Is it €32 better than a modified iGO-W? YMMV I suppose.
It's nicer to my taste and does have the convenience of a larger well and AFC which also means when fully-closed leaking is either minimal or non-existent. Those make it worth the price for me. I've found I only drip into it a few times a day like I used to with my Clockworks RDAs, and the capacity of the RDA was always something I was fond of so I was always going to be sweet for the thing.

His main and almost only gripe was the flavour I thought, other things were pretty minor. The flavour from the trident when set up properly is pretty hard to beat, I love mine. €45 seems a bit expensive to me for a cloned dripper.

Where are you getting the 3D dripper from, vaping tech? For 70 dollars (just over €50) I'm kind of tempted, might see how you get on with yours first.

Nah, I'm gonna wait until the 3D [C.L.O.N.E] is available closer to home.
No rush, plus I haven't as much of a hankering for it as I did the Origen. More parts = more points of failure which has me wary.

I know his main point was about the flavour (and I disagree with him comparing it unfavourably to the Trident) but those other points seemed bullshïtty.
It think he's a fairly bull****ty reviewer anyway. What he's saying is probably true for him but he seems extremely fickle what with every new build being the greatest thing ever for about two months there. He's just the wrong side of manic for me (actually, if he's a mania-sufferer that would explain his "new-thing=best-thing-ever" syndrome very well).

In fairness for awhile there each new build was slightly better than the previous one and they were all great! All he really does is repeat other people's builds (plus a few of his own) but his videos are fantastic, he's excellent at tutorials.

Think he might have lost the plot slightly with all those twisted coils now though (clapton coil?!), haven't bothered going down that road yet.

If you're just doing standard dual micro coils you probably won't notice much of a flavour difference between the trident and the origen, might be more apparent with super nano coils etc. He did say he'd tried a lot of different builds with it and really wanted to like it.

Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those atomic drippers he always uses, have yet to see any clones though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭grindle

Maybe. Although the difference between the Origen and Trident is apparent to me. Smoother, tastier and with lowly dual micros.

Might chance a dual twisted build on both to see how they compare at vapouroshima levels.
    0.25ohm here I come!

I should really lower my nic.

0.25 with 18 mg+ juice is pretty rough I'd say, tough enough to do a full inhale with 12 mg juice with that heat.

So you reckon the Origen is better than the trident, now I want one. Damn you Grindle.

    Little bit of Wednesday porn...

    Dicodes arrived from GreekVapes.
Somewhat smaller than I had imagined. Next to a Provari...

    13263166334_5d39b6597b_c.jpg

    And with a Squape attached...

    13263172464_94fef3a4d7_c.jpg

Button feel is lovely, menu is easy (similar to a Provari in some ways). Will take a few days to see how the battery management features work out.

Now to pack up the Provari and get it sent off to one lucky Boardie!

FYI. Squape will be for sale or swap once replacement Kayfun arrives.

Just what I need, another dripper :pac: Maybe I'll sell my Origen clone to grindle to fund it...

What's your opinion on it, is it as good as riptripper makes it out to be? For me the trident is the best flavour I've gotten out of any atomiser, how does it compare to that, if you have one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭M00lers

I love it, it's small but perfectly formed. Vapes great. Currently using .45mm Kanthal dual coil @ approx .35 ohm and its easily the best vape I've had. Flavor is great and with those dual 3mm airholes you can chase clouds if thats what you want to do.
I much prefer it over my Trident (clone). Build quality is top notch, cannot see me ever getting rid of it. I think I also prefer it to my Zenith v2 (slighty) but the Zenith is more versatile. You can build what ever you want in that thing. Looks great on 22mm mods too. I've ordered the Atomic clone from that ebay link and I'm hopeful of it being just as good as my legit version.

Got my Atomic clone today and it's excellent, really weighty feel just like the original. Looks like a 1:1 copy IMO, the drip tip is great too, easily worth the money. Will post pics later after I give it a good scrub.

I got it for £22 after I made an offer on the ebay link, add 3.50 euro for Parcel Motel, bargain IMO. If anyone buys one via the ebay link could you mention me during the purchase. He reckoned he'd refund me £2 if I sent anyone his way.

This in no way has altered my opinion of the product, if it was a turd I'd let people know.
    Thanks.

Tried to buy one and it looks like the listing has ended, can't see any more for sale from UK sellers. Crap.

If anyone got one and feels like selling it on let me know...
