Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would anyone have a recommendation or a lead on someone who could do a BER on a house in Connemara? Four queries in and I am getting nowhere. Please reply via PM.

Hello. You can contact SEAI directly or visit their website (https://ndber.seai.ie/pass/ber/search.aspx) to find approved BER assessors in your area.

Thanks, I was directed to that and have used it. I might have found someone, but amazing that it should take 8 or more tries to trying get something done that's a compulsory requirement.

What part of Connemara are you in?

Yes. I was put onto the SEAI web site by someone in Galway not interested in travelling out ther. The guy who out there that was an early try said he was very busy and wanted a weeks notice and then when I emailed some photos and suggested a couple of days, he didn't reply. Another replied that they were only doing commercial work. The woman who answered the phone for a larger firm hadn't heard of them and didn't think they did them, others just didn't reply.

Should be sorted now, I have a date and time scheduled now.

Could anyone give an idea of the price of a BER cert these days?

I paid €200. Seemed to be a typical figure.

Between €200 and €250 for an existing house, depending on size and location.
New build anything from €400 up.
