So i’ve been looking to install laminate flooring in my new house. I’ve visited a few showrooms and most of them use the standard foam/rubber rolls for the underlays. But the other day, i was at one showroom and he uses a different type of underlay, a 5mm board made of fiber wood and felt i believe? He claims it is superior to foam and rubber and that is why he only uses that type with all his installs
Anyone know anything about that? What are the benefits over the standard foam/rubber rolls?
    Appreciate the help

You need to look at the acoustic/insulation properties.
There is also a thicker board.

I only use the boards, normally the green ones from the place in Kylemore

How much do the green boards work out at? where is the best place to buy them?
