Anyone know where one might be able to rent a car/van with a tow bar? (Ignore tow van in title)

I want to tow a trailer. Yes, I am licenced to tow a trailer before people ask.

Next to impossible, had the same issue myself had to hire a recovery truck instead. No hire company wants their vehicles being overloaded with a trailer.

A recovery truck to tow a trailer is a bit excessive.

Are the fold away tow bars on the VW Touregs/ Seat / Audi etc all optional extras ?

Or do any van rental places supply vans with tow bars?

Very rare if at all to find this. Have spoken to 2 rental companies about it in the past. Basically they would have to check licensing and trailer type for every rental, and that would limit the hire to EB licence holders only, as they would have to assume the biggest possible trailer would be used, even if a customer said they weren't towing.. obviously this reduces the viability of the vehicle. Add to that the additional insurance, wear & tear, idiot tax, and it just wasn't a runner

If it suits easirent do the box vans with tail lift....

Have used them twice for house moves, vans around 1 or 2 years old and good pricing too.... Much cheaper then any other after all the shopping around I done.

Anyone know a reliable tow car then under 1500 that's easy to sell on after use? Lol probably works out cheaper!

I used a recovery truck instead of a trailer, it may have seemed excessive but it was in hindsight the best way of moving the load.

Correct insurance and size vehicle for the load. GPT hire out transit dropsides these may have tow bars fitted but supply is limited.

Old school Passat or an estate etc drop seats at rear may not need to trailer then either.

What are you looking to move? People might be able to advise alternative options if knew more.

Could you hire a man with a van with a towbar and just get them to tow it for you.

    Worth contacting https://www.valuevanrental.ie/

They have the Ford Ranger down as an option under Crew Cab's, and anything that arrives in to the country for stock has the optional Tow Bar fitted, so unless they specifically ordered without (which is unlikely) there should be a Tow Bar.

It a small to medium boat, so kinda stuck with it being on a trailer.
