Read somewhere that its prefereable to use IPv6 for the Series X but for some reason its running IPV4.

I'm using a sky Q router and the xBox One S in the house automatically goes for 6, is there any way of forcing the Series X to also use 6 or is there no benefit.

    Thanks

To be honest, it is not as simple as just enabling IPv6. While IPv6 is the Dogs B for online gamers, you will find it very hard to tell the difference at the moment, if at all. It just offers more IP addresses.

For one, you need to be with an ISP that supports IPv6, not all do yet. IPv6 does not require you to use port forwarding anymore as it offers many many times the number of useable IP addresses. It would essentially allow you to assign whats known as a public IP address to every device on your network. So your Xbox would have its own IP for gaming online which does have benefits. IPv4 normally provides 1 public IP address and then all devices use that same IP when online. Hence to need to port forward sometimes.

Honestly, you will see no difference at the moment, so don't worry about it.
