Just to add to this. I got an Eir sim and tried to port it. Guy in VF store said it was declined by the porting team. He said it wasn't active. I argued with him that he just called the number so it was obviously active. He just basically shrugged his shoulders.

Spent an hour on VF support chat who said it wasn't them it was Eir. So I topped up the Eir sim with 5euro and went to a different VF store the next day and ported with no issues.

There may be some truth in it that it was Eir blocking the port.
