Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So even in 1989 Eddie Rockets was a rip off? A Big Mac in 1989 was £1.30

You should have paraphrased Mr Wimpy. :)

"I'll gladly pay you Thursday for a hamburger today"

Of course it was expensive, it always had the name for it. Works out £4.64.

Where do you get the £1.30 price? do you have links to old menus? I always like to see them.

Does it apply to Rockets too?

I think it was to do with the national burger day and how early they ran out of their quota for buy one get one free.

Nope only some of them...a franchise owner lost the franchise

Eddie Rockets was €6 for a meal 30 years ago? That does not seem right at all or even close to it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,115 ✭✭✭Pacifico

Yeah it's unlikely they were looking for €6 back then ;)

Blanchardstown this Thursday. With Krispy Kreme doing 1€/box of doughnuts for their anniversary and Empty Pockets opposite doing their ‘back to the 80s’........ It’ll be an asylum. Steer well clear.

If you ordered a veggie burger in 1989 you got treated to a homophobic slur

Excellent, that's my birthday. No sign of a notice for this when we had an 'early' birthday treat of a full priced Eddie's yesterday..

Is the menu available all day I.e can you get the meal as soon as it opens. Might head to Eddie Rockets to avail of the offer for breakfast.

Was the burger regular sized or smaller? I mean the meat itself.

In Tullamore, its full sized burger and fries. Genuinely but pleasantly surprised

Someone in Charlestown refused the deal as it's a franchise. Aren't the majority franchises so how do you know which ones are doing this deal?

Cool - but queues are usually out the door at regular prices - at least here in Blanch. Probably have to camp out night before to get this!

    “Roll it back”
