Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah, the memories...mostly used DC++ which was if not the best then most interesting one for sure. A pier-to-pier software which allowed you to browse through contents of the other users. A joy to find rare stuff you have been looking for long. ;)

Users had to share content which would be accessible to others. Some were probably stupid since they managed to share their whole file system. Their diploma works, recipes, docs, personal pics (including nude ones). :pac:

Where I come from, internet in 2000 was at the level which Ireland only got way later, no dial ups, 1 - 2 mbps. But if the party on the other side had crap upload I still had to wait sometimes days for movie to come through. :D

I certainly remember the weeks before they all got killed off, with uploaders misspelling the names of the artists & songs to avoid them being binned.
These days, it's simple just play on youtube and rip the audio. ;)

Ah, I remember all the lads in our computer science lab getting hauled out of the lab for using Napster and the like.

I also remember getting a legitimate download assistant for my dial up connection. It was the only way I could download a 20mb file for college in sections. The good oul days
