Have you or has someone you know, specifically: seek an apology from another person

The apology sought could be a personal slight, a business mess, fraud. Since this thread is in Humanities, I am not interested in anything else like whether or not the person seeking the apology got compensation or an excuse like "the dog ate my homework". Was the apology sincere?
