This seems to be happening more and more to channels for no good reason and is a very worrying trend.
Louder with Crowder, for example, which I've watched a few times and didn't think was that offensive (Crowder seems like a decent enough guy).

People seem to be getting sick of it and moving elsewhere.
Not sure about the exact ins and outs of it myself. Just wondering what ye think.

Political censorship mixed with punishment for wrongthink

The real fun will happen when Leftists (who will have endorsed and cheered this on)start getting banned and demonetised for criticising Israel/Israeli policy

It's purely a business decision. It's driven by the free market and pure capitalism. Big companies like Pepsi, Audi, AT&T threatened to pull ads that ran alongside certain content.

These companies came together and decided they only wanted ads placed alongside certain content.

Philipp Schindler, Google’s chief business officer, addressed advertisers’ complaints in a blog post on Mach 21, announcing YouTube’s commitment to “put in place changes that would give brands more control over where their ads appear.” “Recently, we had a number of cases where brands’ ads appeared on content that was not aligned with their values. For this, we deeply apologize,” Schindler said. “We know that this is unacceptable to the advertisers and agencies who put their trust in us.”

It's not political censorship at all. They are being DEMONETIZED not banned. It's simply no one is willing to PAY for their content.

To say its only political channels etc would be wrong. If your channel has edgy humor etc a company like Pepsi or Audi might not want their ads on your channel.

I do think companies that pay for ad space should have the right to decide where they pay for it to go.

The fact that youtube has decided that the content space that companies choose NOT to go has no monetary value to their company doesn't mean they do not think such content has no value whatsoever. It's just not worth money to them. It's not a product they can sell.

That is capitalism. Products that don't sell have no monetary value thus the demonetization. Such products or artforms etc may find patrons if people think it has 'other' value that is worthwhile. If not they can still make content and put it up and not earn money from it.

Youtube is a company, it's a video sharing website just like Pornhub for example.

There are plenty of other video sharing websites that have different standards for videos.

And to be honest. Youtube is pretty liberal with it's standards. Much more so than a tv channel like RTE would be. People get away with a lot more than they normally would on youtube compared to other forms of media. I think that is obvious. People are kidding themselves if they think otherwise

Perhaps the greatest meltdown since Chernobyl would be Facebook / Twitter / Google etc. being bought my Russian oligarchs who just removed everything from the left and changed social discourse "because it's their platform and they can do what they want with it".

The mods are algorithms and bots.

You should try watching primetime Russian T.V sometime. It's all very woman friendly and VERY kid friendly.

Women buy the family shopping. They buy the pepsi or kvass.

Conservative propaganda is actually just bland happy families and traditional heroes and values.

Besides russians want European cars and brands a lot now. Western companies are buying into the market.

The algorithms make a lot of mistakes sometimes and ban things that are obviously innocent and miss things that are obviously something that shouldn't be on youtube.

    Youtube usually corrects it eventually.

Someone will flag a video for no reason etc.

People say, "Believe half of what you see
Son, and none of what you hear"
