    Dear all,

    Maynooth University has a NEW Higher Diploma course in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) that is now open for registration.

    Are you interested in computing, and interface design in particular? Do you want to learn about data integration and about designing for modern technology (e.g. mobile computing and VR) ? This may be for you if you are highly motivated to dedicate your learning for a full year on this subject!

    Funded places are available that may support you with 90 or even 100% of the costs. More information here: HDip HCI & UX

    What do you need to enroll?

    You need to have completed a three-year Level 8 degree in any subject, including Computing. You can also enter this programme through recognition of prior experiential learning (RPEL). You must have a recognised primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level.

    What will you learn?

    This Higher Diploma will produce graduates who understand the human factors involved in creating an interface, have the know how to imagine and structure a suitable design, and have the skills to turn it into working code. This programme will enable you to design and program user experiences using the latest tools and technologies for developing interactive and immersive applications. These skills will be practised in module work, a team project, case studies and collaboration with industry. Additionally, a workplace preparation module will help students to shape their career paths and develop those important connections with HCI/UX companies and industry more broadly.

    Job prospects:

    Examples of careers that graduates of this programme will find are:

    * User Experience Designers
    * Human Factors Engineers
    * Information Architects

    However, the skills developed over the course of this programme are transferable to many careers and working environments, and are highly sought after in all sectors of the economy.
