If home alone house and Seinfeld set are going into production when will they be released? Before Xmas?

Hard to say for sure. Steamboat Willie took 2 months from decision to release whereas Central Perk took 7 months.

You'd assume they'd aim for a November release to capitalize on the Home Alone house around Christmas.

Very excited with the home alone house, massive potential with what they could do.

A home alone version of the haunted house with loads of traps etc. would be perfect - 3,000 to 5,000 pieces the bigger the better!

The ideas set that was submitted was 3000 pieces so there's a possibility the final set will be more than that by the time Lego tidy it up a bit for production.

Also a chance it could be fewer pieces.

Lego are releasing an incredibly cool NES set (or the original Nintendo to those not familiar).

It looks so awesome. Lego are teasing a NES on their Instagram so this all ties in.

It comes with the Super Mario Bros screen that can be moved along like the game could.

They should have used an old fuk like me in their ad. No way does that guy know about blowing on cartridges.

It's extremely well done. But it's not for me. Pirates Bay is nostalgia done right for me.

They should have at least dressed him to look as if he was from the '80's.

In fairness, that's fairly cool. I'm not sure where I could put it though - too much lego, not enough space....

I've ordered hundreds (if not thousands) of parts from XS Bricks over the years, he's always a gent to deal with.

    Would highly recommend as well!

Annoying as was going to order pirate Bay and get double VIP points but I see two free Lego sets spend 35 or more and 99 or more but only in store only. Feel getting ripped now if I buy it as not getting them.

    Msg lego. Times it works

Would you just email them when making order and say will you give the free sets as well. Just they don't reply for a few days and offer over come Sunday for double VIP points also, just looked there the offer doesn't even appear if you go into Ireland region only noticed it when in the UK region. Be nuts to order it online in the UK even with double VIP points as be best off over there going to the store and getting the two free sets in-store.

Lego have made a giant Lego Super Mario, it's pretty cool, to promote their collaboration with Nintendo. Their range of toy sets go on sale, well, tomorrow now, 1st August.

It's made of nearly 23,000 bricks, it's 1.2 metres tall(he mustn't have eaten a Super Mushroom), it took 110 hours to build and required the input of 6 Lego master builders to be fully play ready. It has different coloured lights you can press which respond similarly to how the regular Lego Mario does to different coloured blocks. I laughed at the "*not for sale" in the top right hand corner of the video.

Nice! It's an impressive set but not sure it's my cup of tea. I logged on just before 12 to pick up the 2 new Star Wars clone wars sets but they were already sold out

I woke before 1am and decided, while I was awake, to order the NES and the Star Wars sets were sold out then. I did manage to get in an order on the 501st set just as they went out of stock so hopefully I'll be first in line when they re-stock later in August.

I ended up just ordering the 501st from Smyths this morning. I was lucky enough to pick up the AAT from Argos during the week. I'm looking forward to seeing some in progress build pics of the Nes

I have gradually converted OH to Lego so we now have a lovely display cabinet of the grown up Lego. He is usually Star Wars, im more Lego Ideas sets and Christmas but we both lived the NES so it was nice to agree to splurge the “joint account” on this one instead of our “own” money

I see an Osprey has hit adverts. Not sure what others think, but I think the seller was crazy to turn down 700 for it. In my opinion these will flood the market soon and their value will drop. There is also a limited number of people who are willing to pay that price for a single set.

I feckin saw one in Smyths the other day. Didn't know about it being withdrawn.

If anyone was trying to get the cancelled Technic Osprey, a few of the Smyths stores around the country have some low levels of stock, presumably reservations that weren’t taken up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,106 ✭✭✭RGARDINR

Saw that now but sadly none in Dublin. So yeah as someone said about it in adverts hopefully that bites them in the ass as saw one person say they bought 4 of them. Hopefully people who want them buy them and not just sellers.

Bloody hell. There was 2 in Smyths in limerick when I was on earlier. Would of been worth the drive to get them both ha. Saying that there is me giving out about people doing it.

There is a flaw with the gearbox, 1 or 2 of the tiny gear wheels get chewed up. Fix is relatively easy (see brickset for an example).

I expect an updated version with the fixed gearbox to be released. The military vehicle thing was used as an excuse.

Somewhere in Bristol, which saves a trip over to Cardiff or London. Will make it far easier to pick something up on a whim rather than needing to justify the expense of a trip to my wallet in advance and have pre-authorised forms filled out in triplicate before I'm let loose with the credit card.

Fair few listed on adverts now. I reckon most of them will go unsold at the prices listed.

Was over at Smyths at blanchardstown and was a q there about 6 people waiting for em. Gone straight away, saw one of the chaps who got it talking to someone afterwards who worked in the shop in a shirt older person, you wonder did they get the heads up as they went straight to the customer service desk while me and others went to the Lego section

I'd be curious to see how many people are building them. Seems to be one lad on adverts buying most of the ones listed. I'm assuming lego will fix the gear issue and release again

Say not many sure if same person getting them keep one sell the rest then would make a killing. But if Smyths let you click and collect maybe same chap wouldn't get them all. Reading up on it seems some German anti war crowd or the likes got onto Lego about it being a military vehicle and that Lego don't do them so that's why was pulled and yes there is a problem with one or two parts on it at gears but I say they won't do it again. Looks like a lovely setbas well.

    Out of stock now

Deadly got one myself. So I say that's the end of them in Smyths so. Unless few pop in stores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,106 ✭✭✭RGARDINR

Funny 2 of the sets were in the store in Galway this morning until 8.50 then went offline and said sold out. Say someone in the store bought them themselves.

Are lego likely to fix the gearbox issue and re-release the osprey. Cool looking set but no way am I paying 700 for it! I'd rather get the lamborghini and a few other sets instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,279 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

Anyone get the lambo? If we get sent back into lockdown im going to buy it. The drivetrain has become disconnected in my Chiron so I'm thinking I might semi dismantle it at the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 961 ✭✭✭Conchir

I picked up the Pirates of Barracuda Bay Ideas set last month, so of course I had to bring my Black Seas Barracuda out of storage to get them side by side!

The Ideas ship is very cool, uses some really nice building techniques, whereas the OG is quite simplistic in places by comparison (but then it is 30 years old). I'll be assembling the Ideas set into the ship soon, so will probably post a comparison photo then.

It's a really cool set though, incredibly detailed and fun to build.

Given Lego said they were pulling it because of connections to war vehicles it's unlikely they would re-release it with fixed gears. Perhaps they will release it under a different name but they would probably need to sort out royalties with Bell Boeing.

Personally I see all the ads on Adverts dropping prices in order to sell, under cutting each other to get a sale. I'd have thought 300 would be achievable as the people willing to pay 600-700 disappear and sellers are left with the set and no interested buyers.

I don't understand why they've all priced so high. There was always going to be 1 or 2 sales at that price. There are 12 ads listed now. I also suspect some of them are the same seller with multiple accounts. Either way people won't have the space to store them longtime and I agree €300ish is more likely as time goes on.
