Booking a big group for a Christmas dinner. It is a big night out. Like good food and reasonable wine.

But , is the grafton street area just way too expensive to even think of going to ?

I'd say your talking 10 euro a glass of wine , well over 130 euro a couple for anything with a few drinks and good food

Went to Dax last year was a little cheaper
Capel street year before, great value.

Can anyone recommend a good/great restaurant near grafton street.

And if not near there a street or two over in any direction as far as capel street to Baggot street to wicklow/wexford street.

Thanks , great ideas here over the years.

Monto Cafe, in Upper Camden Street. It's a BYO, and they don't charge "corkage". There's a Tesco Express across the street, if you run out of wine.

Cool thanks a million. People coming normally have travelled a bit and I try find something special.

Not necessarily fine dining, but PHX bistro last year was class.

Another year FXB was a success

How big is the group? Maybe you could book upstairs in La Cave, it is on South Anne Street just off Grafton Street.

    Christmas set menu €33

Wines by the glass €7 / carafe €20

The Cedar Tree, on Saint Andrews Street.
Might be too late to get a sitting though. :(

I'd be booking sharpish, already finding it hard to get midweek group bookings for December!

Crow Street is relatively new but getting good reviews https://crowstreet.ie/

Not sure if they'd have the space for a big group, maybe upstairs, but I had a fabulous meal recently in Camden Kitchen http://camdenkitchen.ie/

I second Monto Camden Street. It's not fancy but they do a wide variety very well and it's very reasonable. Lovely looking restaurant as well. It's very popular and might be hard to get at this point.
