Timber for Garden project

Evening all, I’m based in Cork City and I would like to get a quote for: Rough Treated timber for use in outdoor garden assembly, the details are as follow below, any ideas of the best place to go ?

80*80*2650: 10 units
40*60*2170: 15 units
40*60*1500: 50 units

2*14*2070: 5 units
2*14*1500: 65 units

2*12*2070: 5 units
2*12*1500: 75 units

2*10*2070: 5 units
2*10*1500: 85 units

Tongue and Groove Boards as follows:

2*14*1500: 80 units
2*12*1500: 100 units
2*10*1500: 125 units

Your measurements don’t make sense. Is it in mm or inches?

You won’t get anything wider than 220mm treated.

From my investigations last year, oversize timber tends to be imported.

I used the first one (MTS) as they're local to me.

Certain types of hardwood possibly won't need treating as long as you keep them off the ground (e.g. use plinths).

If you want to keep the price down, use treated native timber, although it's not as nice.

Only thing I will add here, and I have not looked in any detail at your sizes yet, but are you making from someone else's plan or your own plan?

Timber is expensive, so try cut down on waste by utilizing the standard lengths of timber. 4.8m 5.2m etc. I have made that mistake before and you end up with a lot of expensive firewood. It adds up over a project.

I’ve a set of plans I’m building from, and I was trying to simplify things with standard lengths and then cutting them down to size.
I wasn’t sure if it made sense to go for the lengths pre cut or not.

I’m only in the early stages of thinking about it, so I’m open to ideas ðŸ’¡

I think you’re best to visit a timber yard and see what they have in stock. Treated timber would only account for a small percentage their sales, they won’t have a wide variety of sizes and lengths.
Most are standard sizes and very little of yours is standard sized. Is it from an American website? Their sizes are completely different to what is normally for sale in Europe.

I'm unsure about the cost of getting someone to pre cut but I'd imagine it's not cheap. Invest in a mitre or chop saw. You can get in any of the discount stores when on offer for under €100 and I'd suspect that will equal or better the cost of pre-cutting with a supplier - plus you have an invaluable tool for your next project

You don't need a chop saw, a good handsaw is fine for this. I have cut 300mm x 75mm Douglas Fir beams with a handsaw.

True, but it's no crack handsawing more than two bits
