    Hi
At the age of 53 I bought my first ever tumble dryer, a 8kg Hotpoint condenser, in February 2018.
On Saturday I dried a few mainly synthetic items that my daughter needed, straight from the washing machine where they’d had an extra spin.
Didn’t need it again until last night when I had a few things that had been 2 nights on a clothes horse so nearly dry.
Well there’s not a peep out of the dryer.
    No lights came on, nothing.
We followed the trouble shooting in the manual and we did find 2 g-strings ! (my daughter again...) in the condenser unit.
Could they have caused this catastrophic breakdown?!?
Only I am allowed to use the dryer and it’s used sparingly and carefully.
The retailer is sending a hotpoint man on Thursday but am interested in any opinions you people might have.
    Thanks

Don't worry about it, let the guy from Hotpoint sort it out it is under warranty. just in case you have a faulty socket try it on an extension lead, if it works cancel the Hotpoint repairman

Thanks. No it’s not the socket cos 6 other things worked in that socket! Your dead right I’ll just wait for the man to fix it.

So very professional service from the hotpoint service crew.
Not one but 2 guys came and diagnosed a blown module in the electric panel. They had a new panel in the van so replaced it and left.
They came when they said they would and I was updated on time of arrival 3 times.
    Excellent stuff.

G-strings dry in no time, and never let your daughter bring them even near the hotpoint!!!!
